Fully Furnished and Good Facilities, Close to Ross and Law School

Great facilities, no window in most rooms could be a problem for some but not for me. Gym, rooftop track, movie room, music rooms with pianos, 3D printers.....

Great grad housing facility

Munger started out as a transdisciplinary housing initiative, but over last year, it has become just another grad dorm. You will live in apartments with 5 or 6 other room-mates, and the living situation will be what you make it to be.

The common areas are spacious, bright, and well appointed, but the bedroom is just about the right size. However, the deal-breaker for many is the lack of windows in the bedrooms (in about 80% of the bedrooms). If that is a concern, stay away.

Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay here - it is centrally located and near everything that I could possibly want. The large common areas in the basement and 8th floor are a boon for exam prep and assignments. The gym on the 8th floor also has an outdoor running track.

Great place close to campus

The Munger Graduate Residences are a great place for most graduate students studying on Central campus owing to it's proximity to all the major hotspots here. The only downside to Munger would be that the rooms itself could have been slightly better lit.

Best you can ask for

Nothing gets better than living at Munger. The place has become sacred haunt for most of the grad students of the university. The only con is that rooms are windowless. While that disturbs a lot of students, I don't care about it much.

Spacious and great amenities!

Munger is a great place to live in. I have 5 other roommates, but there is ample space for everyone. With each room having its own bath, it makes it extremely convenient. All utilities and furniture is included in the rent. The availability of study rooms, study area and the the fitness room, make the amenities great.

The only drawback is that most rooms do not have windows, so that would be the only thing I might change.

Munger Graduate Residences

Overall, Munger is great. For only $850 for both rent and utilities, everyone gets their own bathroom, a huge living area and kitchen (with two of each major appliance), high-end study rooms and areas, and a nice convenience store on the 8th floor. Only complaints are: no window in my bedroom, fitness center with dumbbells up to only 25 lbs (which, for the vast majority of exercises, makes them relatively useless), and inability to move room and apartment temperature beyond a range of 71-76 degrees F due to environmental requirements.

Great value

Living in Munger has been a great experience. Everything you need under one roof. This comes in handy when you want to take a break from the Ross building (or can't find an empty study room). This residence is more than I imagined for the price. In addition to a gym, store, study rooms, theater room and game room, you get to engage with students from a variety of disciplines.

The only negative is that the bedrooms have no windows.

Munger is an amazing value

The Munger Graduate Residents is one of the best values on campus. For $850 per person you live in a fully furnished apartment that was built in 2015. It is fully upgraded with all the modern amenities, including two of every appliance in the kitchen and two large Smart TV's that have cable and internet. The apartment also includes a washer and dryer. $850 is inclusive of all utilities and bills!!!! This is particularly great as a grad student because it helps you to better plan your budget since there is no fluctuation in your overall housing cost.

Amazing place but no windows in bedrooms

This is a great place to live. Fair warning the bedrooms don't have windows but the living area is spacious and well lit, with lots of sunlight. Kitchens are huge, all amenities are in-house and included in rent.
Munger is also a great place to meet new people from different disciplines at UMich. Great place for international students!

Central Campus Reviews

Pros: 8 minute walk to Ross or downtown. Access into residence halls, suites, and rooms very secure. Maintenance managed by school so never have to shovel snow. Across from the Student Union that has fast food restaurants and Starbucks.

Cons: Have to walk a few blocks to get to real restaurants (like 2-3 blocks).
The main strip of stores/restaurants/etc. is only a 15 minute walk. The football stadium is close. Packard street (runs alongside the building) drops you off on State St which takes you to the highway. Travel is easy. The neighborhood has not felt unsafe to me at any point, though I generally don't travel the area between the areas of 2am and 6am lol so I can't vouch for those times. It seems to be college students and families mostly.
Germantown is geographically located in the heart of a U-M students' universe. Equally centered between downtown's bars & restaurants and Central Campus, living in Germantown allows for easy access to Ann Arbor's student essentials.
Extremely fun neighborhood, with lots of excellent restaurants and bars/clubs within walking distance. A 10-minute walk to Ross and other popular housing spots such as The Yard and 618 South Main.
Parking is a bit of a pain in the butt but there are ZipCars in many locations. That is the way to go! Don't bother bringing up a car. You're going to need a car to go to groceries.
Love all the restaurants and bars that are near us, as well as the fact that we are just a quick walk to campus. Neighborhood feels very safe, even late at night.
Film, booze, quick food, brunch, pharmacy, grocery, late night pizza, theatre (film, plays, musical artists), etc., etc all within a 10 minute walk.
7 minute walk from Ross, 10 minute from the Bus.

Its centrally located to bars, restaurants, classes, and everything else you need.
