Convenient, Clean & Great Amenities

I have had a great experience living at Emory Point. A few suggestions: (1) Make sure you have an understanding of the different layouts offered, so you can select the one that best fits your needs. (2) Remember that parts of the apartment complex overlook the retail shops or busy roads, so if you do not want to live in a noisy area be clear about your preferences. (3) Consider asking to live on the top floor, to avoid noisy neighbors above you. The apartment complex is on a few different bus routes so you do not need a car to get to and from school. Alternatively, it is a 20 minute walk, and a quick bike ride.

Very new accomodations

Highly recommended. The only downside is the fire station if your apartment faces Clifton road. It can get very loud any time of the day.

Graduate Student

Overall, it's pretty good. It is a little on the expensive side, however it is in arguably the best location of all the apartment complexes near Emory. It is right off of Clifton Rd. so riding a bike to school is easy. There are also restaurants, a grocery store, and shops below the apartments. The only drawback that I can say about the place is that (although it is a new complex) there have been some plumbing issues causing flooding in some of the apartments. The location is directly across from the CDC to give you an idea of its proximity to campus. Also, there is a bus stop across the street, if you don't have a car, that goes to GBS. But truthfully, the smartest way to commute is via bike. You are maybe a mile away from GBS.

Emory Point: Convenience at a Cost

The good:
(1) 1 mile walk to Goizueta with easy access to regular shuttles
(2) Excellent gyms and pools
(3) Restaurants, Earth Fare, CVS, and dry cleaners downstairs
(4) Maintenance is professional and highly responsive (same or next day always)
(5) Free printing (must provide paper)(but they lock the room at 10pm)
(6) Helpful (for the most part) staff in leasing office
(7) Safe location
(8) Short distance (walking distance) to Lullwater Park
(9) Nice apartments with upscale appliances and W/D in unit
(10) Balconies

The bad
(1) Walls are paper thin (i.e., can hear neighbors coughing, singing, etc)
(2) Expensive (~1500/month for smallest 1br)
(3) Key required to EXIT the parking lot (i.e., you must let all visitors out; this sucks)
(4) Somewhat noisy in the mornings depending on your location (lawn-mowers, delivery trucks, etc starting at ~8:30am)
(5) Fire alarms go off all the freaking time (for no apparent reason)
(6) Overlook building has open-air hallways, which can get annoying on cold days
(7) Very expensive if you lose your garage-key (I think $400)

Good location

For Emory students, the apartment is walking distance and the complex has a supermarket, restaurants, and CVS. You can live even without a car, while the rents are high and a bit noisy place.

Awesome Location and Units

This is one of the only apartment complexes you can walk to GBS. It is about a 15-20 minute walk or there are Emory buses (free) that pick you up right in front of Emory Point and drop you off at GBS. In addition, there are plenty of places to eat (fast-casual and dine-in), a full grocery store (Earth Fare), shopping, and a CVS. Basically, you never have to leave the complex, and you do not need a car.

The apartments are high-end (granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, etc.) and are relatively spacious. The on-site amenities are also great which include 3 pools, 2 gyms, and 2 business centers (free printing).

Another thing to note is there are undergrads that live here as well. However, I have not experienced a ton of noise. It is usually pretty quiet even on the weekends. Lastly, it is extremely safe (I am a female in my 20s). There is 24-hour security, and I have never been concerned about my safety walking alone at night.

Walking distance to campus

Great location if you want a quick commute to school. New building with great amenities. Mix of some (well-behaved) undergrads, grad students, young professionals, and families. Plus the bagels at General Muir are a treat.

A little expensive, but a great apartment

These apartments are a little on the expensive side, but the facilities, safety, proximity to restaurants, and proximity to school are exceptional. The oldest units were first rented out in 2014, the so interior design feels contemporary.

Great option near campus

Emory Point is a great choice for living alone, close to campus. I can walk to class every day, and feel very safe and comfortable in my apartment. The leasing office and maintenance staff are incredibly helpful, friendly, and responsive. The pool and gym are beautiful and rarely crowded. It is definitely not the most economic choice available, but for someone new to the city and looking for the easiest possible transition to school, it was worth every cent. The only minor annoyance is that there are undergrads living in the building and they can be a bit loud, but I haven't had any serious issues with that. Tip: try to sign a lease early in the summer or even spring to great rent discounts/deals!

Great Accommodations; Disingenuous Management

The apartment, community, shops, pool and gym are incredible. The distance to Emory is also perfect. Maintenance, security and other services are great.

Downside: Management will screw you over the first chance they get. We had a horrendous experience with them, both moving in and moving out. The price is more premium than other options and they will try to get even more out of you every chance they get. Also, they tell you that professors and CDC professionals live there. This is disingenuous. You are surrounded by overprivileged, techno bumping undergrads.
