Convenient apartment, but not for cooking

The location was very good and they had a gym and a coffee machine, the amenities were pretty decent, and living space was fine, but the kitchen was really small and the shower tray is tiny. Also the packages are managed by the front desk and you do not get a notification when it arrives.

Feels like a dorm

My landlord is nice and maintenance is always very quick. But it is not great for grad students. I think this place would be awesome for an undergrad student, but it is too noisy for adults and the room quality isn't as good as other places we have found with similar prices. We also have an inside view which is kind of hard, because it is not very bright. The rent for our apartment is going up to $1800/month next year and we already have to pay them $190/month for parking and also pay for water separately. It is too much for us so we are leaving. It's also super hot right now in our apartment because they turned off our air conditioner so that windows wouldn't freeze (no central heating), so we have to open up all of the windows.

U Towers

Love the place. The management is a little annoying and money minded. But rent is negotiable. They do have 9-month leases

U-Towers

University Towers is reasonably priced given the close proximity to Ross, which was important to me. The place feels like a dorm room. The elevators are slow. Many undergrads live nearby. The place feels rundown and hasn't been renovated in years. Many things break but maintenance does fix them quickly. It also feels very small and only comes with twin beds.

South University Reviews

9 reviews
Very close to Ross and bars and restaurants including BurgerFi, Blue Lep, Brown Jug, Charley's, Rick's, Pizza House, and many others. Only about a 15 minute walk to Main St area.
The apartment is a great location, right in the heart of the campus. However, this meant it was very loud. Very accessible to all buses, restaurants and nightlife.
It is right on the bar scene so if you are ok with noise it is fine
full of undergrads
Sometimes loud with undergrad parties.
Quiet neighborhood, has quite a few good restaurants.
Undergraduate students can be loud, but also their presence means a lot of nearby restaurants, ubers, etc.
Extremely loud full of screaming undergrads who thought covid was a several month long snow day.
