Downtown

"The Excitement District"
Downtown Atlanta is a historic neighborhood with famous attractions and an authentic urban atmosphere. It is considered the heart of the city’s busy central business district filled with student-friendly and family-friendly eateries. There’s a fun trolley that offers a new way to explore the city. One stop not to miss is the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, home to some of Atlanta’s most frequented restaurants. At the very center of the city is Centennial Olympic Park, which was the original home for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. The park has been renovated and redesigned for daily public use, hosting numerous community-wide free events. Downtown is also home to musical festivals and live music venues like the Sound Table.

Downtown is bustling with restaurants and bars. Some of these include No Mas! Cantina, Suite Food Lounge, Stats Brewpub, Church, and Park Bar. Other great places to visit include the Georgia Aquarium, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the World of Coca Cola Museum. Downtown Atlanta is a great place for people who want to live in the midst of the Atlanta action.

Downtown — 7.7/10 Rating (based on 3 neighborhood reviews)
Great option for Georgia State students. It seems like the building is inhabited mostly by GSU students any way. Great price for wood floors, in unit washer dryer, and updated kitchen. I wish the lighting was better in my apartment. I don't know what other apartments look like but my overhead lighting is a dim track light in the living room. The bedroom doesn't have any overhead lighting, which is quite inconvenient. Very close to GSU and MARTA (Five Points station and Garnett station). Also close to Edgewood bar strip.

I love living in downtown. It's close to all the other major neighborhoods by MARTA and is starting to have more walkability as far as shopping and restaurants go. The only con is the lack of easy parking, and the traffic during major sporting events, concerts, and conventions.
