It's great
Great location close to the med school/hospital. Lots of med students live in the area but at the same time it feels private/like home. Downsides: my particular unit does not have in unit laundry and the shared laundry room isn't working most of the time. Haven't had many maintenance issues but when I do, they are not very responsive. Overall I love it, would consider moving to a unit that has in unit laundry and maybe more kitchen counter space.

Close proximity to med school and perfect size for two people!
It has been nice to be within 12min walking distance to the med school. The apartment is a great size for two people. I live on the first floor and the major cons are the AC unit is loud and I can hear the second floor tenants walking around since the floor squeaks.

Excellent
Riverhouse condos is a 10 minute walk from the hospital and borders the river making the location pristine. It has a pool but unfortunately has out of unit washer and dryer and no gym. The condos are individually owned so some are quite updated while others aren’t. I highly recommend this complex

Riverhouse Review
The experience here varies, but we were lucky and have a relatively modern unit. The A/C was added after the apartment was built and doesn't not cool the unit great, but it is only an issue in the summer. There is laundry but it is in a separate building and requires you to walk outside. 1 parking spot is included, but a 2nd is affordable if you get it. It's conveniently located near the hospital, about a 15-20 minute walk from most things there. There was one instance where my roommate left his car unlocked and had things stolen.

Great deal for Ann Arbor
Living in UM for undergrad
Very good deal for price. Old building (like most places in AA)
But much better deal for quality compared to other options in White Coat area

Great Value
Units vary greatly by price and niceness inside since each unit is owned by separate landlords. My place is definitely not the nicest of other Riverhouse units, but our rent is a good deal for the location, utilities included (gas, water, and heat), two parking spots, and AC (not the best AC, but did ok enough during the summer).

River House
Overall good, cheap for being close to the medical school. Each unit is owned by a different owner, so your experience will vary based on your landlord. Ours is pretty communicative, but we have had to deal with some maintenance issues which would probably be handled by management in a bigger complex. Not a deal breaker for the price we are paying.
Laundry machines are chronically broken, so you often need to walk to other buildings to do your laundry. Apartments come with 1 covered parking spot, you can pay $720 per year for a pass for a second unassigned, uncovered spot which has worked well for us so far.
Quality of appliances, etc also varies by unit. We have an updated kitchen but older bathroom + wall paint, etc. Walk from home to hospital entrance is about 10 minutes (all uphill), I usually ride my bike in 3-5 minutes.

The ideal place to live for Med School
I spent my first year commuting to Med School. The parking situation in A2 is wholly unsustainable and a significant source of stress.
Riverhouse is a fantastic place to live. Enough space to feel at home, with the convenience of being able to walk to the Hospital Campus.
The biggest hit is probably the frequency of power outages. It isnt too too common, but they may occur once or twice. Also, each individual unit is owned by a landlord, so you may or may not have well-maintained unit, but most are great!

Pretty good for location
Overall, my husband and I are happy we live here. So close to the hospital, about a 10 minute walk, and a very fast drive when I'm lazy and I have my husband drop me off. Every condo is different, but ours is more updated and has a washer and drier in the bathroom (others you have shared laundry that you have to pay for). We like living by the river and B2B trail, and get out for walks and bike rides often. Our landlords are responsive but have had some issues getting things fixed when they're broken (dishwasher and air conditioner). We wish we had a garage but it's okay for our state in life.
