This is a great location for medical students because it's right across from the hospital and med school buildings. A lot of med students live here. The rooms are relatively small but the living spaces (dining room, living room) are pretty big. We have hardwood floors which are great but each condo is owned individually so that may not be the case in every apartment. It's a pretty quiet neighborhood filled with students and professionals (haven't seen many families with children here).

Each condo is individually owned, so the upkeep in each unit can be variable. The wood floors and porch in each unit are beautiful. The central pools is a great way to meet neighbors. I love the location by the park and near the hospital.

Well maintained condo and surrounding complex (except pool was closed for >50% of summer 2016 while remodeling was put on hold). 15 minute walk from door to Medical School lecture halls or 20 minutes to most areas in the hospital. In community of lots of medical students. Never any safety concerns or issues with neighbors.

- 15-20 minute walk to the UM med school and hospital, also walking distance to many bus lines
- Across the street from the river with lots of wildlife around
- Generally quiet and always the right temperature (window A/C unit rarely needs to be used in the summer)
- The owner of our condo is fair and responsive, and maintenance people are friendly and helpful
- Big closets in both bedrooms and in the bathroom

This is a second floor condo with a patio, hardwood floors, and Island Park, the Huron River, and Cedar Bend Nature Area right outside the door. Take a study break in the condo community pool...and our WiFi reaches the pool deck! Among other housing options in the White Coat neighborhood, I think the general consensus is Riverhouse is a step up from some of the other places where med students tend to live like Island Drive Apartments and Med Center Court. Best of all, you’ll be living with an M3 who is eager to share insights and advice on success in med school! This condo complex (Riverhouse Condos) was a great starter location when moving to Ann Arbor and starting medical school. It is only a ten minute walk to the medical school, and many of your classmates also live in that complex and the general white coat area. The condo is managed by a large realty practice in Ann Arbor, and are generally quite responsive when issues arise. There was a good amount of space for two medical students, though there are no storage closets or places to keep miscellaneous items. The neighbors in the building are lovely and were fun to get to know. The complex also has a pool. The price was a bit high for the surrounding area, but the inclusion of all utilities was a big perk given the summer heat and winter cold in Michigan. All in all, given the location, the price was worth it. There is lots of natural light and all windows have views of the park and river. The condo comes with one parking spot included (covered) and you can rent another parking spot for $600 per year. In sum, this is a great place to start out your medical school career and you can decide whether to stay or move elsewhere once you're more familiar with your classmates and the surrounding area.

We have really enjoyed living here because it is an ideal location--close to the hospital, kerrytown, and downtown. We overlook the Huron River and Island Drive Park which has excellent bike and running paths. This condo feels quiet and peaceful surrounded by nature even though it is in the heart of the city. We have excellent landlords and love our spacious condo! These units were built in the 1960s and vary in updates. We are fortunate to have a very updated unit.

The condos here can vary quite a bit based on the owner and how many renovations have been done, but my place has a brand new kitchen and bathroom that are beautiful. It also has hardwood floors and a porch. The Huron River and Island Drive Park are out my front door, and a community pool is right out the back. I can also see the hospital from my porch! Its a little farther from Kerrytown, but it is still walkable in nice weather.

Close to hospital & medical school, and in the neighborhood with many classmates. Can be affordable with nice amenities in each condo depending on your owner. Pool open during the summer. Laundry on the grounds - pay via reloadable card. Well kept grounds.
