Lakeshore Apartments
Living at Lakeshore Apartments has been wonderful! It is a bit of a longer drive (about 25-35 minutes depending on the time of day), but the area is beautiful. I have easier access to more restaurants, shopping centers, and events than people in other areas. I feel very, very safe in the area, which was my top priority. I also generally found that my rent was less expensive than many of the downtown options, and although I pay more for gas than people who live downtown, the price difference in the rent negates this issue. The community is very friendly, and the people in the leasing office and maintenance are amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone who doesn't mind a bit of a drive; sometimes it is a good way to wind down after a long day at school!

Good community but far from downtown.
Lakeshore is a great place to live. They have two pools, and the community is safe and kind. I live on the third floor with a vaulted ceiling and fireplace for about $1468. The apartments are small but you’re ten minutes from Carmel, and about five from both Castleton and Keystone Malls.
Parking is free, it’s generally close to parks, and there is a walking trail around the lake.
The biggest downside to me is it is about a 30 minute drive to the school. While working downtown, it took me on average 40 minutes to get home when leaving at 5 pm. 465 southbound is closed so everyone has to take Allisonville road all the way downtown.
Just prepare to leave about an hour early to get to class on time with traffic and parking.
