Poor Management
The location is fantastic. The management is poor. My toilet has not been working reliably since I moved in (2 years ago), and it hasn't been replaced nor have we received any concessions for rent or amenities. Basically, I am spending thousands of dollars monthly for an apartment where I cannot use my own toilet. I have had to stay with other people at times because of the toilet issue, which Park La Brea employees have yet to acknowledge or resolve.
This specific issue is truly a tenant's nightmare scenario, but it isn't the only issue we've run into while living here. Because there are so many residents, the management is impersonal and there is no direct property manager, making it hard to get questions answered in a timely fashion. In my experience, it is much easier to live at a smaller complex or individual rental where you could develop a personal relationship with your property manager.
The rent options displayed online are not accurate. Ours is a lot higher.

Park La Brea
The apartment is absolutely fine but definitely too expensive. I'm here because my housing plans fell through at the very last minute, so one pro is that there are always units available and they can move you in very quickly after you apply. I love the area I'm in. I never need to live in a gated community again, though it is nice to have so many families and pets around, and to have access to a nice pool and gym.

Safe place to live
Even though it is a very old apartment complex, most units are well maintained. Also, there is a great elementary school nearby, so it is a really good place for people with young children.
