Awesome, spacious studio in a great location

My studio in the historic Cairo building is amazing! One of the reasons is because of the layout. There's a bed nook, so the bed is partially hidden and isn't the focal point of the room. I have beautiful exposed brick walls too! Lots of storage, and a newly renovated bathroom. The kitchen is outdated, but it's functional. I love entertaining, and when looking for a studio I was nervous because they can feel cramped. The high ceilings and layout definitely make it feel a lot bigger and I've actually has awesome get-togethers. I live on a higher floor, and it's very quiet from street noise and neighbors, except for the occasional door slamming or people speaking loudly in the hall, as the doors aren't soundproof - really, one of the only flaws. The building is in a fantastic location - grocery store, liquor store, pharmacy, nail salon, restaurants, etc. all within one block, and studios in less ideal locations go for a lot more. Has a 24 hour front desk. Amazing rooftop, but no pool or fitness center. Laundry is in the basement, unfortunately. They could have more washers, as there's a wait on the weekends, but I just try to do my laundry on off hours. Since I'm a renter living in a condo, the complex has a Homeowners Association, which is so much better than a management company. They do a great job at keeping it clean, fixing things asap, and taking pride in their establishment. This isn't a brand new building, and my (and other) studio has some remnants of the 80s, but it isn't something that bothers me. Some condos are completely renovated, so it just depends on who you rent from. If you want a brand new space and building, this probably isn't for you. But if you want great layouts, character and an awesome location, this is the place to be! I've been here for over a year, and hope to stay for a while! Also, I haven't had any pest problems...I live on a higher floor, but they spray pretty frequently.

Great neighborhood. Very walkable, even at night I always feel safe. Usually lots of people out and about. Young community, lots of bars and some awesome restaurants. Farmers markets and outside concerts in the warm months. Easy access to foggy bottom metro (15min walk) and dupont metro (5 min walk). Lots of green space (rock creek park). Georgetown 20 min walk with great shopping. 20 min walk to AdMo with great restaurants/bars
I love the neighborhood! Perfectly situated between Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom. Walking distance to campus, while still being separate enough to feel independent. Tons of restaurants, bars, and stores around. The neighborhood feels very safe but is quiet and residential, too.
Dupont Circle is a great area. I like that my block feels very residential, but I'm close to convenience stores, the Metro, and only a 15-20 minute walk to the law school. Sometimes I walk over to Georgetown, which is nice.
I have never felt unsafe walking home at night from campus. The area is mostly embassies and very fancy apartments and townhouses.
could not be happier. i love having a safe space away from the law school
West End is amazing! Such great restaurants and stores around!
Amazing food and restaurants all within walking distance
Hamilton House is located in the crossings of West End, Foggy Bottom, and DuPont. It is a very clean, classy area. Super incredible how you can walk down the street to old-town DC, walk down another street and its all clubs and bars of DuPont, walk the other direction and its GW, walk another direction and its DuPont circle and all the incredible food. This is an ideal location, especially being situated right in between Foggy Bottom / GW Metro stop and the DuPont Metro stop.
