Most terrifying place I've ever lived!

Longer review on Yelp

Still haven't had a resolution with the management company who has repeatedly refused to return my security deposit or pay for any damages, including moving TWICE in a 59 day period. Just threats and bullying.

Problems started before I moved in, the property manager wanting to meet late Saturday night "to talk" but refusing to provide the keys. (see screenshots) Move-in was delayed a week because of this and I ended up having to take a male legal advisor with me to sign the lease because I felt so unsafe.

Then there was the Sugar Baby next door and her string of "dates" .... 1 guy in particular was often drunk and self-admittedly high, screaming about being c@ked up & "what a f#cking wh@re she was". He would smash things in her apartment and throw things agains the wall so hard that it knocked the pictures off the wall in my place at least 3x per week.

He also smashed holes in the wall in the corridor, damaged her door trying to get in when she locked him out and would pound on my door and window – not sure what he wanted but I was terrified all the time.

Couldn't sleep or leave my apartment because it wasn't safe + couple of times had to sleep in my car because I couldn't get by him to get in.

That's who smashed the widow - posted a picture.

Security refused to do anything about it and said it had been a problem "for a long time" and police routinely came by looking for the guy. I called the police on a number of occasions but LAPD apparently will not respond if they are busy unless there is open gun violence. And this was the worst at nights.

I did go to the local police station to discuss ... turns out a long history at this place which is a whole other issue. But NOBODY should have to live like that!

When I ran, property manager POSTED MY NAME & PHONE NUMBER on the apartment door... apparently to provide my info to the c@ke-guy that I called the police on 10x ... so I've lived in hiding and terror for almost a year, diagnosed with complex PTSD.

BUT.... someone took a pic & sent my contact info to the former resident of my unit, a lovely woman who owns a hair salon in BH. She lived there for 12 yrs and moved out for the EXACT same reasons. Strength in numbers.

Only saving grace is that we all carry recording devices in our pockets now so EVERYTHING is recorded.

Hope this helps you if you are thinking about dealing with this company.

Great Rate on the Wilshire Corridor

Very pleased with my apartment and its location. Proximate to UCLA and relatively close to many of LA's best attractions.

Westwood is great. Can take the Bruin Bus to get to campus easily so no need to pay for parking on campus. Westwood village is an easy walk with many great shops and restaurants. Westwood park is around the corner which offers all kinds of outdoor activities. Really enjoy living in this quiet, safe neighborhood.
Great college area, a little depressed because of COVID, but has a lot of potential and feels very accessible. Close to other nice areas like Brentwood or Santa Monica
Expensive, quiet depending on how close you are to undergraduate apartment buildings and the medical center.
The walk to Westwood is kind of long, I usually drive.
Westwood is a great area for graduate and professional students who are not from LA. It is walkable (grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.), which is nice. Campus is close by, and a bus service runs from Weyburn directly to campus.

There is a large amount of homeless activity in the area.

It is a very young neighborhood. A lot of undergrads in the streets.
I'm not a city person, so it feels like there's nothing to do. I don't like bars or clubs, and I can't afford to eat out. Movies are pretty expensive, too. I would love more green space to sit and get away from the noisy 405. But there is a grocery store nearby, and there are a fair number of restaurants and movie theaters. There should be plenty to do for city people. Westwood feels like your typical college town, and it's full of students.
Lots of dining and grocery options at all price points. Very happy to have Ralph's and Target within walking distance (along with upscale groceries if that's your thing). 30 min to LAX or Santa Monica by car (if traffic is cooperative). Easy access to the 405. Lots of Uber cars around to take you where you need to go. Some quiet neighborhoods around campus that are good for running.

Some homeless people but overall feels quite safe. Only problem is that (surprise) it's definitely not cheap to live here.
Westwood is full of UCLA students. Everyone is friendly and there is a shopping center within walking distance of the apartment. Our apartment building is also filled with a lot of nurses or retired couples which is nice. We also have many foreign exchange students living here.
