Great Deal

I suggest living in Palms if you're looking for space, a 15 minute drive to campus, and a very reasonable monthly rent. There is a small group of Anderson students living in the neighborhood and you're only a short drive from Venice, Santa Monica, Westwood, etc. Downtown Culver City is also within walking distance, providing a number of restaurants, bars, and a movie theater.

I really like Palms and the greater Culver City area. It is close to the metro line so you can take the train to school which has been great. The downtown area of Palms/Culver City is super cute and tons of great restaurants. About a third to a half of my class is out here so there are always plenty of opportunities to socialize. Its also close to Santa Monica (which you can also take the metro to) meaning its easy to get to the beach. Its just a good central location with lots of cute shops and restaurants.
Palms is great! It’s very easy to get to campus on either the green Culver City bus (R6) or the Big Blue Bus (take the 12 or 17). ...if campus ever opens again. It’s also pretty bikable (with a few exceptions). There are also a lot of ways to get involved in the community (Palms neighborhood council, community garden, LATU west side, etc)
Close to the metro line and downtown Culver which has a lot of nice restaurants and bars. The area is too expensive for what you get though and the homeless population has really increased with COVID.
Good: Residential neighborhood on the other side of Sepulveda is full of families and nice for strolls.

A park is on the other side of the 405 and is easily within walking distance.

Three grocery stores, two Starbucks, one Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf cafes, two pharmacies in the area as well as a handful of restaurants within walking distance. The best cookies in L.A. within driving distance (Zooey's Cookies).

Bad: Area dominated by Sepulveda which is a major road. Ugly: The nature of how busy it is brings in wild card characters walking around area.
Close to Culver City, metro, and 10. Mostly residential. Mix of upscale and downscale apartments.
Convenient walk to shops and some small restaurants, as well as bus stops. The apartment building is located right next to a main road (Sepulveda Blvd). The neighborhood doesn't feel extremely safe but I haven't felt extremely unsafe either. There are typically people walking around the streets on a day-to-day basis, especially around the shops and bus stops. I recommend being mindful and cautious where you can, just like a general public setting.
Neighborhood is safe with lots of green space, especially good for dog owners. Walking distance to Palms Metro station which takes me to USC campus in about 40 minutes door-to-door. Also you can walk to downtown Culver City with all the restaurants and other businesses. Centrally located between Downtown and Santa Monica, so in a great location to get to either Westside or Downtown.
Really great location - halfway between Santa Monica and USC campus. Very central to other Westside neighborhoods too. The Expo Metro line is quite convenient too - there are both Palms and Culver City stops. Downtown Culver City is walking distance, and has lots of great restaurants, bars, and even a movie theater.
