great experience for a (relatively) good price

New construction and appliances and everything feels clean; maintenance is very prompt. The area feels safe. The biggest downside is that it is not in a walkable area.

Overall a good experience

The apartment is mostly carpet, and some of the design is a bit outdated— eg countertop color is a weird brown.

But aesthetics aside, it’s been a typical “upscale” apartment experience. When appliances have issues, maintenance is responsive, and the building is overall in great condition. You must have a fob to enter the building and the parking garage, so things feel pretty secure.

The exterior walls are pretty thick, so I almost never hear noise from the hallways. I have large windows in the bedroom and living room, so I get plenty of sunlight. The location provides easy access to Mopac, and is a short 10-15 min drive to the law school.

Post West

I love my apartment and my complex. The free printing on site is a huge asset as a grad student. The bus picks up just outside and I love the area. There is a pool, gym, and great clubhouse on campus. My apartment is large and perfect for roommates.

ANNOYING, INCONVENIENT, UNSAFE PROPERTY

I've lived at Post for almost 4 years and I'm looking forward to leaving soon.

ANNOYING: Throughout our stay the fire alarms have been faulty, going off early in the morning whenever the atmospheric pressure changes. This has been an issue for years and the property management reported that they had the system repaired multiple times; each time the fire alarms go off again a few weeks later.

INCONVENIENT: Our apartment also had incorrectly installed hot and cold water pipes so our washing machine temperature wasn't correct and our toilets were hot. We told the leasing office about out hot/cold water problem during the first month we moved in (2014) but the pipes weren't repaired until June 2017. Post, after months of 'investigation', had the pipes repaired but the contractor they used made a mess and left messy drywall in both of our bathrooms. The hot/cold water attached to our washing machine was not repaired.

UNSAFE: I recently had a bicycle stolen from the property. It was locked with a heavy duty cable to a bike rack inside of the parking garage (on an upper floor behind a locked gate) and the cable was cut and my bike stolen. I filed a police report but the leasing office has been uncooperative in accessing security video of the parking garage. I contacted the courtesy officer for the property and I was told that for the past year the security cameras in the building have been running but recording were not accessible, and after repeated requests over the past year the recording system has not been repaired.

Affordable Luxury

This apartment is on the slightly lower-end side of the luxury apartments in Austin, but because of that it is much more affordable than the typical luxury apartments. The location is somewhat odd, since it's in a mostly residential neighborhood, but the complex stays mostly quiet and it's very convenient to nearby shops as well as major thoroughfares.

Post West Austin - Great Prices / Great Location

This apartment is in a great location, super safe, has nice appliances and maintenance is very responsive. I have noticed that I can hear the people above me quite often (only above not beside). Design and layout is highly functional with a huge granite island and open floor plan.

This apartment is in prime location just north of downtown in a safe and established neighborhood, Rosedale. It is a very family oriented area with easy access to UT Campus and right off MoPac with easy access to Downtown/Work and up North to the Domain area. My commute to work is about 12-15 mins in the morning, with no traffic it takes about 8.

Modern, pet friendly apartment, easy access to UT and downtown

Post West Austin offers upscale, modern amenities and is located with easy access to downtown and UT. Rent is not cheap, but is reasonable. The pet fee is high, but they have been otherwise very pet friendly and accommodating. I have renewed once and will plan to again.

Post West Austin

I really enjoyed living at Post West. The location is perfect and the amenities are great. Bi-monthly complementary breakfasts were a nice surprise. Management and maintenance was always very helpful and responsive. The limited guest parking is the only downfall of the property.

About Rosedale

Rosedale is a cozy residential neighborhood with a homey feel. It is one of the older neighborhoods of Austin, established in the 1930s and 40s, with tree adorned streets, highly-rated schools, parks, and local businesses and restaurants. The neighbors keep the welcoming charm of Rosedale alive. I...

Getting around Rosedale

Rosedale Reviews

5 reviews
The neighborhood is walk-able, quite, and calm. Location is good because of distance to large HEB, Central Market, and the Triangle shopping area. Right off of Mopac allows for easy access to the Domain and Downtown. Bull Creek turns into 38th southbound, and building is 10 minutes from campus.
There’s construction happening across the street as they build a development called The Grove. But the rest of the neighborhood is great for walking around, with lots of little Austin houses and greenery. Seems to mostly be families, and is very safe and cute.

The Rosedale neighborhood is safe, close to UT and downtown. Great neighborhood for runners and close to Burnet road, which is booming with restaurants.
Post West isn't in the center of Rosedale, but only a 15 minute walk to Randall's or shopping area on Burnett.rl Rosedale has a lot of character and I love not being surrounded by college students.
