Great place to live!

I have lived at Henderson Park for 3 years. It is affordable and I great location for those using the metro to commute to work. The management is decent however I do not think that we should be charged a $50 lockout fee if we lose are keys or can't access the building. There have also been times on weekends, etc. when needing access to the building they have acted like it is inconveniencing them to come let us in (the 1 or 2 times I've misplaced my key).

Overall great place. Would recommend!

Attentive management and homey feel

We moved here 2 and a half years ago and it has been very homie and nice all the time we have been. The management team is very attentive and truly cares about the residents. The apartments are in great condition. The gym downstairs has al the equipment that I need so it's perfect for me!

Mediocre

The apartment and apartment complex are decent.

It has pretty good apartment amenities and decent apartment complex amenities, but it doesn't cost a ton of money. The apartments have in-unit washers/dryers, dishwashers, and garbage disposals. The complex includes a small gym, movie theater, business center, and game room. They have a night time security guard that patrols the building.

However, this apartment has its draw backs. It lacks storage space and they don't have storage units available for rent. The apartment company ranges from excellent to extremely unhelpful, depending on who you are working with.

Overall, I would recommend this apartment for someone who is searching for value, doesn't mind a bit of noise between rooms, and doesn't need the nicest amenities.

Henderson Park

This is a great place to live. It is close to plenty of restaurant and bars as well as the Ballston metro. It is a great value for the location and amenities. The gym is great and there is an entertainment room with a big screen TV and theater seating, a separate game room with pool table and other games, and a BBQ area with grills and seating. Amazing!!

Henderson

Henderson Park has been a wonderful place to live! The leasing office is courteous and quick to respond to any maintenance issues. The building is convenient to the Ballston Metro, as well as several restaurants in the area. If Clarendon nightlife is your thing, it's less than a mile and a half away! Highly recommend this apartment.

Henderson Park

This is a good neighborhood and is a reasonable walking distance to the Ballston Metro. My unit has a bathroom for each room, which is lovely, but probably not worth the higher price tag.

Great for young professionals.

The rent is affordable for the two bedroom + den apartments. The management company is quick to fix and clean things when requested. The amenities of the community and movie room and gym are beautiful - my friends and I use them all the time for social functions.

Great apartment, OK location

The apartment itself is great, and has great amenities, including a gym, computer room (with printer!), game room, and study room. The location leaves a little to be desired, though. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Ballston metro through some areas that are heavily under construction.

About Ballston

Living in the suburbs and still finding a vibrant city a few blocks away is what Ballston is all about. Reach the city with great ease, and find some great restaurants such as the Tutto Bene and the Caribbean Breeze, or maybe the Taste of Arlington Annual Street Fair. If that is not appealing enough...

Getting around Ballston

Ballston Reviews

I enjoy my neighbors and the common crowd around this area is young professionals it seems. We are close to george mason university and marymount college, so there is sometimes a younger crowd in the area as well. We do have some houses around the area that I have seen mainly have newly established families (i.e. little kids or new to the area) and I feel safe walking around my area at night.
I personally like being in Arlington. Everything is walkable and while it's not DC proper, it's very easy to get into the city via metro or a quick drive in. I've run to Georgetown in 20-30 minutes. There's stuff to do and there's everything you could need: gyms, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, bars so close by. Ballston is a hub for transport so buses and the metro abound.
It can be a little noisy if you're too close to Wilson, Glebe or Fairfax roads, especially if you're right above the bus stop like I am, but nothing light background noise can't drown out; I sleep with a fan and I sleep like a baby. The public transport can't be beat, and it seems like a new restaurant opens every day. I'm interested in looking at houses in the area when I can afford to buy!
Ballston is by far one of the best areas of Arlington to live in. It has tons of access to bars, food, shopping, and a social scene, without being too loud of an area.
We are right across from Ballston Quarter which has a Union Market type of food court. The area is developing so quickly, very trendy and everything is within walking distance. Even though it's very walkable it does not feel as congested as DC.
I definitely feel that it's up and coming-- so much construction and many new restaurants and shops popping up! IT's very walkable. It's also pretty safe and it's close to highways, the Potomac, to DC, etc so the location is pretty great.
I love living in Ballston. I don’t have a car and never feel like I need one. Richmond Square is a block from the metro to take me into DC, and there are plenty of places to eat and things to do right here in Ballston.
Great spot for young people. There are tons of amazing restaurants and bars nearby that you can walk to. Also only a short metro ride to DC.
