Great People, Lousy Management
Avalon is a great co-op, as are all of the co-ops in ICC Austin, but ICC Austin's staff is horrible at the moment. They've tried to deny contract from returning members who meet all the requirements. As a member-owned organization, they shouldn't be doing this. But in terms of the location, the value (meals included!), and the sense of community, Avalon is great.
