Happy with living situation
The pros of living in Darragh are: proximity/location to hospitals and school of medicine, the kind/friendly staff, in-unit laundry, and included utilities/Wi-fi. The units are fairly spacious and well-maintained by the facilities management. Everyone is super friendly; package pick-up is secure and in-building; and maintenance is communicated clearly with residents. Convenience and value is un-matched. Good temp control and good amount of storage space!
Only con is perhaps the lack of natural sunlight because you'll most likely have 2 windows (the view varies based on the unit you are in). Walls can be a bit thin but I haven't had any issues with this personally.

Amazing Location + All Utilities Included
Darragh has an absolutely unbeatable location for healthcare graduate students at Pitt. It takes only 3-5 minutes to walk from Darragh to Scaife Hall, Salk Hall, UPMC Presbyterian, etc. Not having to worry about crazy traffic, unstable bus schedules, or commute in general has made medical school so much less stressful. Also, it's great having a personal washer/dryer unit so that I don't need to carry coins (who walks around with physical coins anymore?) or risk forgetting a load of laundry. All the utilities (Internet, heat, electricity, water, etc.) are all covered under the single rent charge. For being in the middle of the city, the apartment has an impressive nature view (I often see deer and many birds outside my window at night). Thin walls are the only issue I've ever had with this place. But luckily, everyone here consists of weak and weary graduate students, so I've never heard any parties or other unacceptable breaches in noise level. I'm able to manage minor noise at night (muffled voices, bumping stuff, random police siren, etc.) with a white noise machine.

My Darragh Review
It’s fine enough, there’s dishwasher, in-unit washer and dryer, and big enough for a single person; have lived here for 2 years.

just right for one person
Distance to school is great. However everything else is not as good as the other apartments.

Great for convenience
Great place to live for ease of getting the medical school. Walls are thin and and building does not have many study places but is very convenient which makes it all worth it.

Darragh St Apartments Review
Grad student single apartment

Excellent location but questionable upkeep
Can’t beat this location if you are a med student and will need to be close to scaife hall. However proceed with caution because maintenance/upkeep can be a disaster (once went one-two weeks without a functioning elevator and so was required to use stairs - not sure what was planned or used for tenants with physical disabilities(

Great location
Very conveniently located near most of the major hospitals on rotations and also the medical school. Next to many restaurants and sights in Oakland as well and only a bus ride away from other important locations throughout medical school and the city.
