very close to school - I leave 5 minutes before class

It's pricey for what you get
My unit was newly renovated at the time I moved in, so the furnishings were really nice, and they eliminated the carpeting in the non-bedroom areas. The kitchen had new appliances, cabinets, and bathroom fixtures (except the shower). Overall, it's been pleasant to live there, and has perks in terms of being to walk to most of the major hospitals/clinics. Parking is expensive and there's a waitlist to get parking in the lot by the building (otherwise you have to park in the OC lot up the hill). The fire alarm system is probably the worst part of this complex (especially because it happens most often at night). In terms of maintenance, they are there 24/7, but a lot of the communication is confusing and it takes forever to get in touch with the right people to plan maintenance.

Darragh Apartment
I have a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. It's a little small, but the bedroom is a separate room and I have my own dishwasher, washer and dryer which comes in handy. I like that water, electric and internet/cable are all included in my rent, and for the most part it is very quiet. I have a great view of Oakland, but it will depend what side of the apartment complex you're on. I'm also conveniently close to bus lines and to my schooling.

Convenience at a price
Darragh is unbelievably convenient and continues to impress me further in that regard. Most mandatory activities for school are in person at Scaife, 1-2 blocks away. This is helpful especially when events are early morning and/or during unpleasant weather (no shoveling snow or waiting for a bus to get to a small group early in the morning). Other mandatory events are at Presby or Montefiore, both across the street from Darragh. WISER center is a few blocks away, and Magee is only slightly further. In other words, you really only have to commute anywhere if going to Children's Hospital or UPMC Shadyside (or some esoteric site). All utilities are included, and maintenance responds incredibly quickly when devices break down. The gyms are very close. The cons that come to mind: it is relatively expensive compared to other places (especially in Oakland), the apartments are relatively small, and there aren't groceries nearby (you can get them delivered or catch carpools/buses, but still an extra step). The walls and floors are thin as well, but usually not an issue. Overall, if you want convenience, this can't be beat.

Darragh street apts
In unity washing and drying. Only issues I have had have been flooding x2 in four years. Love that you’re 5 minutes from presby/monte, the Peterson, and scaife. It’s worth the price for the convenience in my opinion. Parking is separate and also pricy.

Convenience with Good Service
The best feature of this apartment complex is the proximity to Pitt / UPMC. I've only required maintenance a few times, and those were to replace aging AC/heating units located under the windows. A two bedroom apartment has worked wonders for me and my partner - we use the smaller bedroom as a dedicated office. I would be hesitant to use the smaller bedroom as an actual bedroom though. Space would be exceedingly limited, especially given the opening of the closet is only ~ 1 ft. wide.
There is a relatively nice patio and terrace outside with build-in grill for cooking if you desire.
Walls are thin - can hear neighbors easily and sounds from above.
