Classic Monument Avenue House

The apartment has a lot of character- it's one of those nice, old houses on monument that has been converted into about a dozen apartments. It includes a porch, which is really great when the weather's nice or for events like the Richmond Marathon or Monument Ave 10K (the apartment's right on both courses). It's at the corner of Monument and Boulevard, so it's walkable basically everywhere- Scott's Addition breweries, the Fan for nightlife, VMFA for happy hour and culture, and Carytown for restaurants and shopping.
Because it's an old building, it definitely has it's quirks though. The hardwood floors are super creaky and scuffed, the doorknobs are old, and, because of its location, there's a lot of ambient noise (ambulance sirens, car horns, neighborhood noise, etc.). The wifi is also unreliable sometimes because it covers the whole house and is stretched pretty thin. There's not a lot of storage space or outlets in the bedrooms, but you can make do.
Parking is included for $35 extra per month, which is nice. The lot is behind the building and is accessible by an alley. If you opt for street parking, you can usually find a spot within a block or two.
Overall though, for the location and price, it's unbeatable even with the quirks.
