it has a huge noise issue. the windows and wooden walls are the worst. and unfortunately, it seems Campus West could not care less about that.
I constantly fail to fall asleep in the night because of the noise and get woke up by the annoying noise of trash trucks in the early morning. And I can literally hear every step of the person living upstairs, as well as the conversations and sneezes of my neighbors. one time I was in my living room and I was able to sing along with my neighbor while she played Umbrella by Rihanna when she was cooking.
sometimes I lay in the bed with my eyes closed, as I listen to all those noises coming from my windows and walls, I started to wonder whether I am a homeless living under a bridge or living right next to a highway with trucks passing by, nonstop.

Average Apartment at a Premium Price
Campus West apartments come fully furnished and all utilities included, with electricity only covered up to $40/month. There is no parking provided, so you will have to pay for a parking pass through SU. The furnishings provided are a very bare minimum. The bed provided is not a mattress, it's a thin cot. The studio apartment is ~340 sq. feet and does not provide a dining table or chair, only a desk and desk chair is provided. The walls are so thin that you can easily hear people next door. If you get an apartment on the side facing the valley, the view is nice but there is a LOT of noise from the highway right across the street and there is also a cargo train that runs through right below the building sometimes at 2am. I picked this apartment because I wanted to be close to the law school, and not have to rush to get to class, which was one of the few perks. But overall Campus West is extremely overpriced for the value received.

Nice and Close Place to Live
The apartments are large, new, safe, and very close to the law school. Maintenance is quick to respond and fix problems. Leasing office open for long hours. Very pet friendly. Nice large study spaces. Gym is clean. Private bathrooms are nice.

CW review
Unfriendly management, friendly maintenance who respond quickly, and great proximity to school.

Sucks
Covid hit and I’ve been stuck laying the rent there. Easily cost me ten thousand dollars and I was provided with no relief. Also the management is shady and increased our rent after we signed on the dotted line. I’ll never go back.

The facility is good, the conditions not so much
For a studio apartment, it's pretty hard to complain. The ceilings are high with big windows and the furniture included is nice enough. The problem is based on the pandemic. In February of 2020 I was forced to renew for a 12 month lease instead of the 10 month agreements that I had been able to request both prior years. That wouldn't be a huge problem, even if I do have an extra two months on the lease; except, the pandemic has made some conditions of the lease truly miserable. I am prevented from subletting for only part of my lease term - I was told that I would need to find a subletter for the entirety of the lease term or I would be on the hook for the entirety. The lease became simply a burden once the pandemic made physical attendance at the College of Law uncertain. I do currently live in the apartment, but am leaving 3 months early to study for the bar in the state in which I am seeking admission. I am therefore stuck with rent payments for an apartment that I am prevented from finding a subletter for.

Overpriced and not that comfortable; you’re only paying for easy access to Dineen

Campus West Review
My roommates and I have not enjoyed our time living in Campus West. The furniture that our apartment is furnished with is not in great condition. We can hear our upstairs neighbors throughout the entire day, which is not ideal for taking online classes. The temperature of our apartment is also never comfortable. Some rooms are very cold, while others are very hot. There is also no pantry and very little storage space in the kitchen, which is also not ideal for a space meant to house 4 people.
There are some good things about Campus West, though. The staff that work here are really nice. And it is very close to the law school, which is where my roommates and I attend. But, these benefits do not outweigh the issues I listed above. For the amount we pay in rent, it just seems like we are not getting our money's worth.

Good for law students, but overpriced
The apartments at CW are fine. Nothing special, nothing terrible. However, they are incredibly expensive ($1,325/month) per person in a 2 bedroom apartment. This price includes very few amenities, but does cover electric and water. It is very convenient to the law school, which is the only real perk it has. Management can be tough to deal with occasionally, but are usually reasonable. The building is very safe, which is the only other good thing about it.

LAW STUDENTS PSA
I know the website photos and location (right next to the law school) makes this seem like a great option for someone new to the area or who just doesn’t want to drive to campus everyday. DO NOT BE FOOLED. This apartment building is NOT what it seems online. Similar to dorm housing, you rent a bedroom in the apartment, not the entire unit. I lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment on the top floor. (I was very lucky to live on the top floor as opposed to some of classmates who were assigned rooms in the basement. The entire basement smelled like mildew and natural gas.) I cannot express how disgusted I was with the apartment. Every surface, from the doors, the walls, the flooring, ceiling, vents, blinds, windows, shower, toilet were covered in layers of grime. The complex claims to “professionally clean” each apartment prior to new tenants moving in (especially important during Covid), upon walking into the apartment it was obvious it had not been cleaned. The HVAC returns in the kitchen/living area were covered in a layer yellow grease topped with half an inch of dust. Upon closer inspection it was clear that the entire kitchen was covered in a layer of sticky, congealed dust. There were even solidified beads of grease on the overhead kitchen light. I have to believe that no one even bothered to go into my apartment prior to my move in rather than the alternative that the management hired a “professional” cleaning company that failed to clean any surface. You might wonder why I would move into an apartment this disgusting, that is because you do not get to pick which apartment you move into or see the apartment prior to moving in. Had I been able to inspect the apartment prior, I would have noticed some of the broken and unusable appliances in the apartment. There were no vent fans in either of the 2 bathrooms, no filters in any of the hvac vents, the sink in one bathroom did not drain, the handle was falling off the door of the kitchen closet, the washing machine leaked, the provided desks would fall over if moved. The bed frames were missing legs, after washing dishes the entire under sinkcabinet flodded, and both toilets would routinely run low on water and need maintenance. Due to these numerous issues, my roommate and I became VERY well acquainted with the maintenance staff. The maintenance staff was always very friendly, helpful, and prompt in responding to any problems, the exact opposite of the front office staff. CampusWest is the 4th apartment complex I have lived in, and I have never had a front desk/building management office that was so unhelpful, disrespectful, and rude. Consider the astronomical rent prices (which change based on the week) I would expect the staff to act with some semblance of customer service. Additionally, the rent. My roommate and I paid a combined $2600 per month for this apartment. A quick search on apartments.com or Zillow will show you that $2600/month is an absurd amount to pay for the area. Speaking of the area, it is bad. Reports of “suspicious persons,” care break ins, and robberys were common. This apartment is located on the very outside of the SU campus at the bottom of a step hill. My apartment faced the back of the building. From my bedroom I was close enough to the highway to see license plate numbers on cars stuck in traffic. in addition the to highway noise, there are train tracks and a local road directly behind the building, resulting in a symphony of noise 24/7. I could continue to list reasons this apartment building was the absolute worst place I have ever lived but it would take an hour. I hope this gives you an idea of what it is actually like to live here, as opposed to the colorful photos on the website.
