Acadia review

I enjoy living in my apartment, it is quiet, very close to shopping and the metro, and has a responsive maintenance staff. Nothing to complain about. My favorite part is the gym because it has individual TVs for each treadmill and is almost always empty in the morning.

Met Acadia

A lot of the amenities haven't come online, which is fustrating but everything else is great! Perfect location! Super pet friendly too! The gym is 3000+ sqft and has a cycle studio which is unique and fun.

The building is still relatively unfinished and the lounge and game room remain uncompleted, but once those are online I'm sure it'll be a premier building.

Getting around Pentagon City

Pentagon City Reviews

66 reviews
Pentagon City is nice and fairly quiet, which is good for studying. There are some students around but it's mostly families and working individuals. There's not a ton to do, but there are some nice places to walk, and there is a good array of restaurants. The apartment is close to a Harris Teeter and a Whole Foods and Costco.
Safe. Feels like a retirement community. Drivers stop to let you cross the street to the apartment.

For the metro, the ride itself is about 20 min. I just budget in extra time for walking and not wanting to arrive just on time. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get to school unless they're doing maintenance. Then, add 10 minutes.
The Crystal City and Pentagon City area has a lot of restaurants and shopping in convenient walking distance. The area tends to clear out after 5 on weekdays, but is often busy on weekends, mostly with tourists. I have always felt safe walking alone in the area at whatever time of day/night.
There is not a lot of green space, unless you count Long Bridge "Park", which is a dead-end, cement "bridge" that looks over soccer and baseball fields with some views of D.C.
The location is great. It's a 7 minute walk to the blue line metro, and the total commute to campus is 25 minutes (when the blue line is running properly). An uber takes about 12 minutes and costs an average of $5 per ride (with uber pool). Pentagon City has just about everything you could need. There is a Whole Foods across the street, and the Fashion Center mall is right next to the metro station. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores, and a very well maintained public park.
General vibe is 30-somethings wanting to settle down, lots of dogs. Not a huge social scene (which I'm A-OK with).

Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings

Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that.
-I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
The Pentagon City area is safe, quiet (except for big shopping weekends!), and well-lit. Grocery store (Harris Teeter) and tons of other shopping options for all other needs. The metro station is convenient to all area apartment complexes. Great green space/parks across from mall with lots of walking paths. Closest churches however are on 23rd St in Crystal City -- which is not too far of a walk in good weather!
There are dining and shopping options galore. A massive three story shopping mall directly across the street. There are multiple parks in the area and grocery shopping options are within a 15 minute walk. There is a public library nearby and many bus routes.
I like the neighborhood, lots of food options, close to a movie theater, and right next to a mall. Only downside is many of my friends live in D.C. and you can feel apart from the city often.
