Best Location, Old Building, Poor Management
The Location is practically unbeatable for the area, as we have an incredible view of the National Cathedral. The apartment seemed pretty fine when we moved in, beside a few cracks in the floor and the like. Since then we had one of the AC units break, A radiator running when turned off, Water leak from the ceiling (and this is first floor so that's pretty impressive), the gas stove top not turn off, on top of many smaller things. None of these incidents were handled well by Nest, the leasing agency. We didn't have a proper AC unit for nearly 2 weeks, and that was in a bedroom. The radiator issue has been completely ignored. The water damage that includes severe mold has yet to be fixed (and it started over 3 months ago), and the stove issue being the most recent has also not been repaired, despite being told someone was coming to service it multiple times. There is no emergency contact for the unit, either with the Condo or Nest, and they consistently provide incorrect information about things being fixed. The contractors are also often not skilled with the particular fixes they are sent to attend to and sometimes are not told what they are supposed to be fixing in advance. The communication with the leasing company is horrific and I would recommend avoiding them at all costs. The building itself is wonderful and the community is lovely.
