Intersection Apartments

Apartments are very new and have really good appliances plus in unit laundry. Building is not in the best area and can be louder at night, but the apartment itself is very quiet and secure. There is free street parking in the neighborhood. Mail boxes are easy to use and I have not had any trouble getting my packages on time.

While it's super convenient to have a space off-campus but still be surrounded by Berkeley graduate students, this is a very very basic apartment complex with no amenities (like gym, lounge space, etc). However, I do want to note that I love to in-unit washer dryer and dishwasher, which are rare finds in Berkeley. Compared to other apartments in the area, it is worth it since the price includes a lot of utilities (water, heat, trash, internet).

Poor mail distribution, especially of Amazon packages. The building is locked and there is rarely an attendant/security at the door to let delivery drivers into the building. Half of my Amazon packages have been undeliverable because of this and have arrived late. We are also told by management not to allow people to follow us into the building, including delivery drivers. Security is lacking where needed and the main door stays open for a few seconds upon entering and cannot be forced closed, allowing people to follow, creating possible unsafe situations. There a card access pad for the elevator to the residences, but it is not activated, so anyone can enter.

I moved into this apartment back in August, when I moved in there were a lot of issues going on with the apartment which I notified the management. It is going to be 5 months and none has come and check my toilet seat, which leaks at the base and the tile floors all over the apartment are detaching or bubbling.

The apartments are all clean and modern and I’ve experienced no problems so far with anything in my room or bathroom. The only downside I would say is the surrounding area, you may feel unsafe at times especially at night. I also wish parking was included, they have very minimal slots available and if you don’t get an assigned garage spot you have to park on the street.

When I read the lease for the apartment I though I was going to find the place in pristine conditions. The contract seem so strict and precise that I did not hesitate in paying the amount of rent requested. To my surprise, the apartment was filthy and had at least 7 faults which I reported immediately, most of them were address in a timely fashion. However, until today I am waiting on a plumber to come and fix a leak in the toilet and for someone to come and change the floor because in half od the apartment it is detaching from the ground.
