Pros and Cons
My apartment is filled with wonderful people who care about out 100+ year old building. The manager is kind. The neighborhood can be chaotic but is mostly filled with working families just trying to get by. The building's age does show - things break constantly (the elevator works roughly 1/2 of the time; washing machines break; doors fall off hinges; roaches, bed bugs, mice). But at least its rent controlled. I wish the city would relax parking restrictions here because we have no parking and a parking ticket can affect my whole month. Koreatown needs more parking and more green space for the many children growing up here. I like living here mostly because of the people who deserve better.
