Great Location

Cheaper and more spacious than DC apts, but the convenience of being a 10 min metro ride from city. The apartments are carpeted and clean and the building comes with a gym and pool. Close to Claredon and the bar scene there. A lot of young people live nearby

Convenient, well maintained, friendly staff

I have lived in Courtland Towers for 6 months now. The amenities are fantastic -- the outdoor pool is so convenient. The front desk staff is professional and friendly. 2-3 blocks from Courthouse Metro cannot be beat. Very quiet -- I never hear my neighbors.

Cons: elevator replacement project still underway. The wait for an elevator is long during morning/evening rush hour because 1 elevator shaft is out of service for replacement and modernization.

There is no electronic system to pay rent. Rent is paid the old-fashioned way with a check. Until the check clears, I never know if management received check or not. Dittmar needs to upgrade to electronic bank transfers.

Overall, I am very happy at Courtland Towers.

Courtland Towers is a solid building

I've been happy living at Courtland Towers. Overall, it's a pretty good value considering that its really close to the Court House Metro Station. The surrounding neighborhood is also fantastic. That said, there are a lot of newer buildings in the area and this building could use a little bit of renovating.

Typical high pricing, but great amenities and location

Courtland Towers isn't the newest high-rise in Arlington, but it has spacious apartments with balconies and an unbelievable amount of amenities (TWO pools - indoor and outdoor, among lots of other features). The rent isn't cheap, but then what is when you're 1.5 blocks from the Court House metro and easy walking distance to great shops, restaurants, bars, and bike paths?

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

This is a safe and exciting neighborhood to live in.
Clarendon is the most similar to D.C. as far as an Arlington neighborhood goes. There are tons of bars, restaurants, gyms/yoga studios, grocery stores. Walking around, you will see tons of young professionals/graduate students. It's really clean and quiet. It's on the silver/orange metro line so you can really get anywhere. It's super closer to major highways/the airport, so if you have a car, there is not a single place that's too far away.
Clarendon is a lovely neighborhood with so much to offer. Many young families and young professionals, but also many loud, young college/ post college partiers. Area can be loud at times. Many great restaurants , walking distance to anything you need. Expensive rent but close to metro/ busses
Lyon village is a great place to live because it it really close to Clarendon with all of the night life and restaurants, but you don't have to deal with all the people and noise. It is very safe - as a female I never feel insecure when walking around at night alone.
The neighborhood has a very busy nightlife. It has several bars and lounges in the area, as well as a great selection of late-night eateries. During the day time, the area is very peaceful. Great places for brunch, shopping, and groceries.
Clarendon is a great neighborhood with lots of young adults. There are some good restaurants and it is a quick metro ride into the city. It is a little quieter than living in the city, but you still get a little bit of a city feel.
So much to do, so many restaurants, so many bars, great shopping, many cafes, four grocery stores within walking distance! Lots to do, but also quiet and has nice suburban feel. Can't say enough great things!
This is the place to be if you are a young professional in the DC area. The prices are way more affordable than DC and you have so much more space! There is always something fun to do and new people to meet!
