Pretty nice, great access to stores

Apartment is nice, pretty spacious, great updated kitchen. you can tell it was built recently - some of the edges are a little sharp & some of the light fixtures are a bit random and don't connect to a light switch etc. but otherwise pretty nice & fits my needs. rent is pretty good and i got a $25 parking deal which is amazing - parking is enclosed in an underground garage too which is nice. the best part is access to any store you could imagine basically - walgreens, target, harris teeter, tj maxx, a bunch of restaurants, exercise, etc. also, super close to the pentagon city mall & pentagon city metro stop, plus costco, best buy, etc. the gym is super rough for the apartment & the pool is indoors, but right next to a planet fitness.

MAA housing

It’s 6 minutes walk from pentagon city metro and 12 minutes to foggy via metro so it’s super close without being DC. Really nice apartments also super quiet for being in the center of a shopping mall. Lots to do outside

Neighborhood Feel within sight of Downtown DC

I arrived in DC a year ago not knowing much about the area and chose to live in VA for lower costs. I looked at PPR on the recommendation of a friend and it had everything I was looking for - basic amenities like a gym and on site parking at a reasonable cost, a great location with walkable shopping and restaurants, and set in a residential area rather than surrounded by high rises, with green space across the street and a big park right around the corner. It was only ten mins from the metro blue and yellow lines, which meant easy access to downtown DC and either Rosslyn or Alexandria. I really liked being able to head to metro DC within 20-30 minutes in the evenings or on weekends but also have a chill night eating at one of the restaurants in the plaza at the center of the complex. The best part was the view of the AF Memorial out my window!

Post Pentagon Row - Pentagon City

I love the location - there's a mall, a grocery store, park, shops, and restaurants within walking distance. It takes me about 5-7 minutes to get to the Metro station, walking mostly through the station and connecting mall. The big downside is it ends up taking AT LEAST 30-40 minutes, but usually 40-50 to get to and from campus door to door, which means I usually can't go home between classes. This is particularly bad because I have a class at night and most info sessions or organization meetings are at night. While I like this apartment, I often wish I lived 10 minutes from school.

Everything I hoped for

Selected this apartment due to the location, and it is everything I hoped for. The Staff are phenomenal, with repairs getting resolved the next day. Close to grocery, restaurants, and metro. A bit pricey, but not unexpected in DC. Gym just got refurbished and there is an indoor pool-- might not have all the bells and whistles of other buildings, but the cost trade off makes it worth it.

Amazing location and wonderful staff

My husband and I love our one bedroom at Post Pentagon Row, just renewed our lease for another year. The square footage is cozy, but high ceilings and great layout make it feel much bigger. The location, close to metro and a 10 minute drive over the bridge into DC, cannot be beat anywhere in Arlington. Plus the groceries and shopping, everything you need is a short walk from your apt door. Plus, the leasing office staff members are always so friendly and helpful -- thankful for this, as I hear its not the norm for similarly sized and priced complexes in the area!

Good enough, great location

Post Pentagon Row is an excellent location if you want to live in Arlington and work in DC. I live in a studio, and I think it's a good layout with lots of space. The only drawbacks I have are the lack of a 24-hour front desk and concierge. If you have a package, you a) have to know one is coming, b) know when it arrived, and c) be able to be home by 6:00 pm to pick it up during the week. We've also had lots of problems with the fire alarms going off by mistake. I don't face the main courtyard area, so can't comment on the noise. The delivery trucks to the stores can be noisy in the middle of the night sometimes.

Perfect Location

I picked this apartment because it is close to all my favorite things: mall, restaurants, starbucks, ice skating(in the winter) and the world market which is the absolute best inter nation store where you can find anything. When I moved in all the apartments were brand new which I loved. Nicely finished, spacious, tons of parking (you pay) under the building and proximity to the metro. Management is great. They do a lot of events with vendors and restaurants in the area. Definitely recommend. This apartment complex is highly in demand

Getting around Pentagon City

Pentagon City Reviews

66 reviews
Pentagon City is nice and fairly quiet, which is good for studying. There are some students around but it's mostly families and working individuals. There's not a ton to do, but there are some nice places to walk, and there is a good array of restaurants. The apartment is close to a Harris Teeter and a Whole Foods and Costco.
Safe. Feels like a retirement community. Drivers stop to let you cross the street to the apartment.

For the metro, the ride itself is about 20 min. I just budget in extra time for walking and not wanting to arrive just on time. It shouldn't take 45 minutes to get to school unless they're doing maintenance. Then, add 10 minutes.
The Crystal City and Pentagon City area has a lot of restaurants and shopping in convenient walking distance. The area tends to clear out after 5 on weekdays, but is often busy on weekends, mostly with tourists. I have always felt safe walking alone in the area at whatever time of day/night.
There is not a lot of green space, unless you count Long Bridge "Park", which is a dead-end, cement "bridge" that looks over soccer and baseball fields with some views of D.C.
The location is great. It's a 7 minute walk to the blue line metro, and the total commute to campus is 25 minutes (when the blue line is running properly). An uber takes about 12 minutes and costs an average of $5 per ride (with uber pool). Pentagon City has just about everything you could need. There is a Whole Foods across the street, and the Fashion Center mall is right next to the metro station. There are restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores, and a very well maintained public park.
General vibe is 30-somethings wanting to settle down, lots of dogs. Not a huge social scene (which I'm A-OK with).

Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings

Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that.
-I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
The Pentagon City area is safe, quiet (except for big shopping weekends!), and well-lit. Grocery store (Harris Teeter) and tons of other shopping options for all other needs. The metro station is convenient to all area apartment complexes. Great green space/parks across from mall with lots of walking paths. Closest churches however are on 23rd St in Crystal City -- which is not too far of a walk in good weather!
There are dining and shopping options galore. A massive three story shopping mall directly across the street. There are multiple parks in the area and grocery shopping options are within a 15 minute walk. There is a public library nearby and many bus routes.
I like the neighborhood, lots of food options, close to a movie theater, and right next to a mall. Only downside is many of my friends live in D.C. and you can feel apart from the city often.
