Excellent value for a huge renovated apartment

The Navy Yard neighborhood generally brings far greater value than almost any other neighborhood of the city, especially Foggy Bottom. For less than an average run-down unrenovated one-bedroom apartment in Foggy, we rent our 850 square foot renovated unit in Capitol Yards, with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, hardwood throughout, a huge walk-in closet, and a massive double-sink bathroom. Management has always been extremely responsive, we are less than a 5 minute walk from the Navy Yard metro station. With dozens of layouts to choose from and an area with a rapidly developing restaurant scene, we won't be moving anytime soon.

100 Capitol Yard

Do not rent on the side facing the highway. The road is noisy and your windows will be filthy. Capitiol view is not worth it. Management is responsive to concerns. Online bill pay is awesome. 24 hour concierge. Rooftop pool is nice, however on busy weekends residents leave trash and pool can be filthy. Not cleaned until after the weekend concludes.

Solid location in Navy Yard

I looked at almost every apartment building in Capitol Riverfront before deciding on 100CY, and I'm happy! Nice people, nice concierge, and the maintenance team is really fast if something is broken. And the clubhouse is amazing. :-) It seems like the garage doors are always breaking for some reason, but they usually fix it pretty quickly.

Navy Yard = construction

I used to be more fond of the navy yard neighborhood because it wasn't constantly packed with traffic and often felt like an escape of sorts from the rest of the city. In the last 6 months or so this has really changed as nearly every block is under construction, and there is a constant stream of dump trucks going to/from the new train tunnel they are digging along 395.

Other than that, it has a decent number of things to do, places to eat, and even has some good green space. Nearly all the apartment buildings there are much newer than what you'll find in most of DC -- and at a lower price point. One benefit of all the construction is that so many new units are opening that there is a steady stream of supply for all current and new residents to the neighborhood -- keeping rent prices in check.

Construction

With the amount of construction, the surrounding area has become a wasteland with too much noise. Other than that, the building is nice and management has been a pleasure to work with. I will likely leave after the end of the lease unless the price goes down because we're frustrated with the noise.

All about the amenities

These are my favorite things about 100CY: Good amenities (although the TV/music control panel in the club room is a bit difficult to use and is glitchy sometimes), nice concierge staff, and really responsive maintenance. Neighbors aren't unfriendly but won't bend over backwards to roll out the red carpet, which is OK. One of the elevators in the lobby is broken a little too frequently, though.

Great location

This is a great location and a safe neighborhood. The management is great and has been very friendly and accommodating. This is a perfect area for millennials - lots of bars and restaurants and the NATS are right in my backyard. There is also everything I need close by - grocery store, gym, restaurants, CVS and Starbucks. Highly recommend.

Nice Place in Navy Yard

For the price and the quality, the Bozzuto properties in Southeast can't be beat. Close to metro, grocery and gym, that's all I need. Good sized units with decent views. The construction going on on nearly every block is a little annoying though. Still worth it.

Good place to live, great concierge & amenities

I like my space at 100 Capitol Yards. We probably have the best concierge staff in Navy Yard and the amenities are great (especially the Club Room). Bozzuto is super responsive when it comes to maintenance -- as in the same day or next day -- although they tack on annoying fees to your rent (example: $25/mo "valet trash" fee even if you don't use the service, $4 rent processing fee just because and an additional $3 fee to pay electronically).

Capitol Hill Riverfront Reviews

I love this area! We're close to metros, grocery stores, and great local businesses. It's a very close walk to parks and the Anacostia waterfront. It can feel removed from the law school, which I enjoy, though if you're new to the area it can be more challenging.
I love the Riverfront so much. There are bars and restaurants, a great grocery store, plenty of events and things to do, and there's something new being built every day. The metro is accessible within a few blocks of most apartments as there are two entrances, and the population is full of pet-loving young professionals. Did I mention the Nationals stadium is in the middle of it all? I can't wait to see what my hood looks like in 5 years.
The neighborhood is largely under construction but in ten years or so it will be awesome. In the meantime, there are a lot of great restaurants, the waterfront, and the baseball stadium.
The areas is constantly changing with new restaurants and bars. During the summer the the Yards Park is one of the most beautiful and popular parks int he city!
Looking forward to more grocery stores and shops opening, but I like the quiet of the neighborhood. Easy walk to the water and the Capitol.
I love walking around this neighborhood because it is rather quiet and residential. There are many parks nearby.
The neighborhood has been fantastic. Tons of construction of new restaurants and retail. Great to explore.
This is an up-and-coming area of DC as I understand it. Most of the things around here are new. It's a little expensive, but most of DC is that way as well. A lot of the people who live here seem to be young professionals. There's lots of parks for dogs. It's a pretty area with plenty to do and it's quieter than other parts of DC I've visited. Not quite as cute as some other areas, but that's ok. It has its own thing going on.
