Great location, okay everything else

This apartment complex is fine. The location is really great, the management is mostly responsive, and the amenities are pretty good. However, the building was obviously slapped together and there are always some sort of issue. Management usually fixes it right away but it is still annoying, especially because it is a new building.

Getting around East Cesar Chavez

East Cesar Chavez Reviews

Tons of great restaurants, bars, coffee shops, breweries, etc. and many other people in their late 20s/early 30s.

Both a pro and a con, depending on your perspective, is that the area is in the midst of a textbook case of gentrification. New hipster places are intermingled with decades old minority owned business.

A few blocks in either direction there are some areas that may feel less safe with low income housing, homeless, etc. Some streets definitely feel sketchier than others and crime still occurs in certain areas. The direct area around the building feels very safe with lots of people and businesses. Development on the east side is happening rapidly and a number of new mid and high rise developments are being constructed which will continue to change the neighborhood.
Great restaurants and bars nearby! Wholefoods and target located next to apartment building too, but lots of homeless within a few blocks of the apartment
Homelessness is a problem in the area. A couple of apartments have been broken into, and individuals have been accosted by homeless individuals.
The neighborhood has a homeless problem, but it isn't on my street and is a few blocks away. The only time I really deal with it is when I'm walking to/from Rainy. However I'm a large male and I haven't ever felt threatened by them.
Love it. Amazing food at pretty good price points and tons of bars to fit whatever you're looking for. Close to downtown, close to school, and close to HEB and Whole Foods. Can't recommend this area enough.
East Austin is fantastic. The best bars and restaurants are all in East Austin. Couldn't imagine living anywhere else. Also close to a few great bus lines (4 goes East and West) and the 100 (Airport - UT shuttle) is also nearby.
Fun neighborhood with lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. There can be some issues with the homeless that live underneath 35.
Great neighborhood with hip bars and restaurants but also tons of dive bars to frequent. Close to UT.
