Decent for 2 years
This place is fine. Nothing great, and kind of pricey for what you get.

Trio Apartments
The best part of life at Trio is our proximity to downtown (its about a 6-8$ Uber ride, so that's great!) the modern kitchen (granite countertops, stainless steel applicances, and subway tile backsplash and great kitchen sink/fixtures) and easy-going management. Plus, the wood floors and grey-painted walls give it a home-y but modern feel. We're in a one bedroom/one bath for 999$ - not bad for Austin!
However, it's not the safest area. Several of our neighbors have been robbed, and one of my neighbors is a dealer (you can guess what I mean, haha) We've got peace of mind due to renters insurance and a large, protective guard dog. If you choose Trio, get insurance and never leave valuables visible in your car & lock your doors!

Great experience so far! The maintenance staff is really great and the staff overall is very personable and helpful. I do love how close to work and downtown and all the nightlife it is. I also like my apartment and the floors are really nice. The paint is nice, overall it's a nice place.

Trio Apartments
I have been living at the Trio Apartment (Complex 1) off of S. Pleasant Valley for a little over six months. From day one, the management as been very accommodating: both progressive and friendly.
They are older apartment buildings that have been remodeled to a more modern/green look. I love that my apartment is facing the trees behind the complex, really peaceful for patio sitting. The gray walls and black surface areas add a nice touch. I live on the top/second floor so I have high vaulted ceilings. The bedrooms and bathrooms have a good amount of closet space, there is an extra closet both indoors and out on your patio! Very useful.
Very pet friendly! We have two cats. I see dog owners all the time also (and I know the front desk keeps bones for them).
The front office is really trendy. The office staff there has always been attentive with any needs. They have a keurig machine and snacks for whenever you want to stop by. It seems like they do events every once and awhile too. There is a small fitness center there (incl. cycling and elliptical machines) that comes in handy when I'm not feeling lazy.
It's close to Riverside and Oltorf, which have some restaurants and a neighborhood HEB to offer. It takes about ten minutes to get to the center of downtown by car.
Only one con: the area it is located in is a little seedy. There has been a car broken into and my boyfriend's tire was slashed last week. Sometimes there isn't much you can do about that though. The complex is at least a little ways from the highway, so not tooooo much traffic.
