Mostly Good Experience

The apartment itself is very nice. New cupboards in the kitchen, marble countertops, and gas appliances. The place even comes with a dishwasher, which is not a guarantee on the east coast. There is a combo laundry machine in-unit that serves both normal functions. It is somewhat inefficient, but it gets the job done.

There is essentially no closet space in the smallest studio units, so I had to buy a wardrobe, which takes up a significant amount of my already limited square footage. The water does not get very hot ever, regardless of season. The maintenance team has told me twice this is just the way it is. The water from the sink tasted off when I first moved in. Also, the water pressure in the shower is pretty pathetic for how new the building is. All of my major problems with this building have to do with the water.

On the upside, this complex has multiple well-kept, beautiful amenities, like a gym, a clubroom, an outdoor patio with grills, a rooftop lounge, a pool, and a dog spa.

Management has technically been responsive, but has only really fixed an issue once or twice. In all other instances, they express some concern but say they cannot or will not address the actual underlying issue.

They want you to pail for a mailbox, which is absolutely absurd. If you give someone $1400+ per month, the least they can give you is a functioning mailing address. Management has on multiple instances stated their intent to return mail if it is sent to individuals who have not purchased a mailbox, because if they withhold it they can be fined.

Overall, expensive but beautiful. Lots of great amenities, amazing kitchens, and lots of issues with water. Will try to scam you into buying your own mail. Management is cordial, even friendly, but not on your side.

Washing Machine / Dishwasher would be nice

My fiance and I have lived in Dominion Arms for almost three years and we love it. It's a little inconvenient only have 10 washers and 10 dryers for the whole building, but the main thing is the lack of dishwasher. I wouldn't need anything else if there was a dishwasher in our unit.

Love It Here

Best bang for your buck in Arlington. Though it's an older building, everything is well kept and in great shape. Management is friendly and accommodating, maintenance is timely, and the building is quiet and cozy. Studio apartments are somewhat spacious and the design is inviting and thoughtful.

Columbia Pike Reviews

Absolutely lovely place to live. Lots of food options in a highly diverse neighborhood.
Been built up a lot in the last few years with a Harris Teeter in walking distance. Lots of metro bus lines right outside the door with a shuttle to the metro
Quiet and residential. A little ways from any restaurants or grocery stores, but there's good bus transport and Capital Bikeshare nearby.
Nice and diverse neighborhood. Up and coming. Safe and convenient. Lots of options for food and drinks. Close proximity to DC and Tyson's Corner. Lots of new construction.
Lots of stuff nearby, including grocery store, coffee shops, movies, restaurants, fast food, diners. Convenient to walk to some of these places.
The neighborhood is very family friendly. I can walk, bike, or bus easily to the metro/Pentagon City mall or bus/bike to the law school. Walking distance to fair assortment of restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. on Columbia Pike. Neighborhood is dotted with parks, tennis courts, short bike path, and other recreation.
It is safe and has growing businesses, but sometimes can feel removed from university life and more blue-collar.
Safe and friendly neighborhood. On a busy street, so the neighborhood is mostly behind the complex. Even then, the suburb behind the complex is small before you hit another highway. Very easily accessible by car, not very much by metro. Also, that accessibility comes with the cost that things do not feel very walkable in most directions. Living here almost necessitates having a car.
