1016 Oakland Apt Review

I've loved living so close to Ross! While this apartment isn't new or remodeled, it is cozy and in a great location.

Not fancy, but convenient and well priced

Older complex, but relatively quiet with almost all graduate students in the building. Great value for a 4 minute walk from Ross.

Can head upstairs neighbor’s every move. Not sure if it’s the building or they are related to Sasquatch

Spacious apartment super close to Ross

If you are on a budget and only want to walk a couple blocks in the snow, this place is for you!! It's not very updated, but the landlord is very responsive. Can get 1-2 parking spots ($1510 includes 1 covered spot). Didn't raise rent in my 3 years here.

Convenient

In your housing search there are three options: cheap, convenient, and nice, but you can only choose two. This apartment epitomizes cheap and convenient. The rent is very good, especially compared to other peers who pay ~$1000 per person to live in Ann Arbor. The location is excellent as well since it's less than a 5 minute walk to get to Ross, and it's ~7 minutes to get to the intramural recreational sports buildings, and there are buses close by that will take you to grocery stores. The downside is its niceness. It's an older apartment with an old fridge, a tiny stovetop, but a new dishwasher. It's also located near where many frats are located. Honestly it's only loud on football Saturdays, and weekends early in the fall. After that, it's too cold for the undergrads to be partying outside, so it's pretty peaceful. In the winter, the apartment is pretty warm and there are big windows in both bedrooms.

Close to Ross!

We stumbled upon a gem with our apartment building. Although it's not the new and shiny, it's extremely spacious and homey. Our landlord is also very attentive and quickly resolves all issues.

Close to campus

The apartment building is run by an older gentleman who is pretty responsive to any inquiries. The apartment is located less than a 5 minute walk from the business school, but it can get loud on football Saturday's since it is located near many fraternities and sororities. It is a less than 10 minute walk to Yost ice arena. There are not a lot of grocery stores or convenience stores in the area, but it is only 10 minutes away from South University street.

This apartment is not the most updated, but has been a great place to live the last two years. It is a 4 minute walk to Ross, which makes a huge difference in the winter months and when I am walking home late from Ross. IT is a great value for the location. Most of the residents are students at Ross, and the others are from grad schools throughout UM. Our unit is huge so there is plenty of space. There is lots of parking (for $50 or $60 a spot) which is a great deal given the location. The washer and dryer is not in unit, but is in the basement so you don't have to go to a laundromat.

I live right around the corner from Burns Park and Argus Farm Stop - I love these amenities! Last year, when I didn't have a car, I was not super fond of my neighborhood because it is residential and there are very few stores/restaurants nearby (besides Argus - which is GREAT). However, now that I have a car, I enjoy my neighborhood a lot more (plus there's always street parking right in my front of my apartment available). It's also only a 15 minute walk to the law school.
Very safe and secure neighborhood. There are a couple of frat houses across the street which get noisy only during the football games. Otherwise, excellent neighborhood and location.
Very convenient and typically lots of street parking for visitors. It is fairly frat- and sorority-heavy, so some occasional noise on football Saturdays.
It's a good location. It's about a 5 minute walk to Ross and a 10/15 walk Downtown. There are several take-out restaurants and bars in the area as well as a hardware store, so it's easy to run out and get things last-minute if needed. There are a fair number of undergrads/frats in the area and they can be noisy during weekend nights, but the building is positioned so that the noise is minimized.
There are several restaurants and the hardware store nearby which is very convenient. It's a close walk to Ross and not far from downtown. But, there are several frats in the area. The building is sheltered from the noise but you can still hear them from time to time.
Parts of this neighborhood are great and very close to Ross. Prices in this neighborhood are very reasonable. Do some research and see what parts of the neighborhood are predominantly undergrad party spots as you'll likely want to avoid those.
It's filled with undergrads, but close enough to burns park that is more adult friendly. Walkable to S university bars and restaurants for social time! Less than 5 min walk to ross which is excellent.
Pretty much only students, mostly undergraduates. There are a few restaurants, but there aren't very many bars. Really close to football/basketball/hockey games and the IM building
