Perfect for family with kids
Several MBA students with partner and kids are living in Woodbury, enabling to connect each other easily. Also, there is a community of families living in Woodbury, holding weekly sports/music lessons as well as seasonal events for kids.
Townhouses are spacious and well maintained although they are bit old. No complaint about managements but maintenances sometimes take time especially during summer to fall when moving is concentrated.

Poor Management
I have been at Woodbury for 1.5 years, and so far, there have been more poor experiences than enjoyable ones. I'm in an updated apartment with shared laundry. The laundry leaks many times and floods the floor. Management has been slow to fix it, like months to fix it. There is little recessed lighting, so bring many lamps. The shuttle has a wonky schedule which doesn't make much sense for students. They did update the gym, which is nice and more valuable. They also have two Pelatons, but sometimes some issues require maintenance.
There have been issues with theft and no response from management. It'd be nice if they put security cameras up to give the police a chance to catch the criminals. Crimes include stealing catalytic converters from vehicles and bicycles. The 6 and 24 buses are near, which I take to class. They run every 15-20 minutes, which is an excellent backup to when the shuttle is not running. Also, the apartments are super thin. I can hear conversations well into my room from other apartments.

Cheap(er), quiet, old
Woodbury has lots of grad students and is quiet (you won't be woken up by the train on Main Street, there aren't loud apartment parties here, it's on quiet dead end streets).
It is a couple hundred dollars cheaper and more spacious than the "luxury" high rise options on Main Street, but still far more expensive than what someone should reasonably be paying for a 50 year old "meh" apartment in Michigan.
Management is not great. There is a high volume of non-violent theft (people's cars being broken into at night--it's really dark out here and the street/parking lot lights are frequently broken and no one bothers to fix them). But it is definitely safe to walk around here.
It is nice to be around so many other MBA students here, though. I've made lots of friends at Woodbury!
It is what it is. Ann Arbor doesn't have great student housing options in general. Pick your poison. Woodbury tends to be a decent choice for couples (because more space) and people who are a bit more price conscious.

Affordable and Comfortable
It's fairly comfortable and affordable. For something under $1000/pp I think it's a great option. We are right on the bus line and it's a close walk to campus.

Pricier than other places but still affordable and tons of perks.
I have a premium apartment (upgraded interior) with in-unit laundry. The place is really spacious (~900 square feet) an an 80 square foot storage unit in the basement is included in the rent as well. The property has a TON of amenities, and overall I have very few complaints. The walls are a bit thin (I can hear downstairs neighbors sometimes) and I have heard not as great things about the laundry buildings with communal washing rooms, mostly that the laundry never feels totally clean, but I personally have had no issues living here. The biggest problem is the fact that the train runs close to hear and can wake me up sometimes because the horn is LOUD. Other than that it's a great place to live. Super pet and student friendly!!

Woodbury Gardens upgraded townhome
No complaints. I live relatively close to campus - I either bike, drive, or take one of several public buses to campus. The apartment is spacious and really nice.

Good Location. Great Amenities. Amazing Management
No complaints after living at Woodbury for a semester. Any maintenance issues are addressed promptly. Neighbors are lax and allow reasonably-sized gatherings. Shuttle to and from campus is a huge help. Free coffee every morning for residents. Free parking (car ports available too). The only complaint I have about the house is that the amount of ceiling lighting is minimal in living room, bedrooms, and dining area, so we needed to buy a lot of standing lamps. Other than that, great place.

Well Maintained and Quiet Place to Live
I've had a great experience at Woodbury. They are extremely on top of maintenance and even send maintenance crews to take care of various things from time to time without prompting. The neighborhood is mostly grad students and young professionals/families from what I can tell. It's generally pretty quiet and pretty to walk around. My only "complaints" are that I wish my unit was bigger for the price I'm paying and that the walk to the UM Campus (~ 25 minutes) is long when the weather is bad (but great when the weather is nice).

Yost Reviews
I haven't had to go to school in person yet (due to the pandemic) - but once things are back in person, I would use the community shuttle to get to campus and possibly back depending on the time of day I head back. Otherwise, I would take the bus or walk. Walking takes about 30 min but the bus will cut down most of that since there is a city stop right at the entrance to Woodbury.
