Fantastic value, slightly further than ideal
Pros: The apartment is modern and spacious - big living room, large closets, open floor plan, modern appliances. The building has great amenities - rooftop grills and pool, gym, business center (conference rooms and printing), and attached restaurants and convenience store. There are plenty of other students living in the building, so there's a good community here. Finally, the price is the best of any building I've seen - easily the best value around Rittenhouse.
Cons: A little further from campus/other students' apartments (typically South and West) than other buildings, heating/cooling from one unit/room leads to different temperature zones around the apartment, and it can be a little noisy in the mornings with trash pickup/street cleaning (only matters if you're a very light sleeper).

Great building, annoying neighbours
In general terms the building is very well maintained, it has great amenities (reception, security, mantainance team, swimming pool, grills, gym) and there is a lot of space in the apartments. Moreover, the apartments are very well equipped (washing machine, dishwasher, dryer, microwave, oven) and you receive assistance from the building if you have any issues with them. However, neighbours are always complaining about almost everything (you are talking too loud, you are walking too loud, your TV is too loud, your music is too loud, you left an umbrella in the hallway, you left your door opened, and the list continues). Therefore, since the price and the apartments are very cool, I would recommend to ask for an apartment with no neighbours (corner ones are the best usually).

Hidden Gem
Wonderful apartments, lots of amenities (roof, pool, gym, tech lounge), responsive maintenance / leasing office, great package system. Quite a few noise complaints throughout the building according to my friends, but never had an issue myself.

Great place!
I personally enjoy living at the Sterling. It's a couple blocks from the hustle and bustle of Rittenhouse Square, which is perfect for me since I prefer my peace and quiet from time to time. And there's a good number of Wharton MBAs living here to hang out with. Easy walking distance to restaurants, retail stores, etc. Views aren't that great because you are staring at office buildings. Also, the building controls the HVAC. So, even if it's still hot out, you may not have A/C after a certain point in the year (and vice versa). But management is great, maintenance issues are addressed in a timely manner, staff and community is friendly. And the rooftop pool/deck is amazing for gatherings! Apartments are also spacious and that's something we hear a lot when students visit from other buildings. (look out for deals too because I got 3 months free rent)

I really like the Sterling
I've had an extremely comfortable experience at the Sterling. All of the front door people are really nice, I've had no issues with mail/packages, the neighbors are nice and there are lots of dogs. I like the location, walking distance to pretty much all popular Wharton apartments and destinations. The rooftop deck is stunning and there's tons of seating for tanning or watching TV or eating, and the pool is nice. There is a lot of variety in terms of apartment types and layouts, and I'm happy with the size of my apartment and the finishes. The building is old and renovated, so sometimes there are minor issues, like the back door to the building will randomly stop working. However, overall I've had a great experience and highly recommend.

Far from school but Excellent otherwise!
It is a 30 minute walk to Perelman/Penn campus although it goes by faster than you think. Alternatively some people take the bus, an option if you do not like walking. Most med students live down in grad hospital so that is a 20-30 minute walk to go where everyone is, but again if you do not mind then it is good.
The building has everything you could ask for, lots of amenities, professional and responsive management, it is very close to all center city activity, has discounts on the sushi, bao, burger, juice and haircut places in the first floor, a pool, and I have no complaints on the heating/air conditioning nor neighbors or noise. I am in one of the cheaper apartments and it came with very modern and unused appliances.
Really great experience.

A little loud, but otherwise great!
I've been very happy with my decision to live in the Sterling. My apartment has is big (~850 sq. ft.) and I have tons of storage space (huge closet + lots of additional storage). The building feels very safe and the everyone who works in the building (concierge, management) has been great and has made things very easy. Because of covid, I haven't really been able to take advantage of the shared spaces.
Regarding the locations, there are some pros & cons. It's been a very convenient location for me -- it's a 5 minute walk from the Rittenhouse area and only about 25 minute door-to-door walk to campus. With that though comes a lot of noise. JFK Blvd is a loud street and the noise is pretty constant, even on the 16th floor. The building is also blocked by other buildings, so the natural light is not great. Otherwise quite happy!

Great building amenities
The building is great. Has a lovely rooftop with pool, a gym, and a tech center. Dry cleaner, coffee shop, small grocery store, and restaurants in the same building. My biggest complaint was my noisy neighbor (blasting music 24/7), the building addressed it with him a few times but the issue never really went away. The elevators also require a bit of a wait at times. It's about a 25 minute walk from the law school.

The Sterling
The apartment is small, but the building and concomitant amenities are fantastic. Beautiful roof-deck and pool, doorman, serviceable gym, in unit washer/dryer, and building repair services are all great. The main advantage to this building is the infrastructure that allows you to focus entirely on your studies. No worries about any of the typical living issues - they're covered!
