Three years running!

I have lived at the Townhouse for three years now and have loved it. I recently moved from a Studio unit into a one bedroom unit and am still having a very positive experience here. The layout of the studio apartments are very nice and have a separated kitchen/dining area. The closet space is great as well. Recently, I was ready to move into a larger apartment and didn't even think about looking outside the Townhouse. The management team was flexible in helping me view the available units and I was able to move in quickly and with no issue. My one bedroom unit now is a great size and I can't see myself leaving any time soon.

A few of the things I like most about the Townhouse are the following:
- The people! All of the doormen are awesome and polite. They know you by name and make sure to always make you feel right at home. They are really nice to my guests and family as well when they come visit.
-Quiet! The building is very quiet. I never hear any neighbors.
-Safe! I feel very safe as a young professional female living here. The team looks out for you and are very alert to everything going on.
- You are provided window units for the summer and they do all the work themselves to have them put in for the summer and then removed for the winter (at no cost)
- Communication is also great. If there is anything going on in the building that tenants should know, they tell us quickly.
-Clean! The laundry room, hallways and lobby are always clean.

I highly recommend living here. It has been my home for the past three years and I hope I stay for a long time to come!

Great Neighborhood and Great Building

My wife and I spent two years in this building. What first drew us to the building was the neighborhood and the security (24/7 front doorman and locked entry way when they go on break).

The building is very quiet and is filled with mostly working professionals from what I can tell. This is not the best place to be if you plan on having parties as the noise levels for "too loud" is purely based on your neighbors. But if you like peace and quiet, this is definitely the place for you.

The building staff was very responsive every time we had a maintenance request. The father/son duo are always friendly and help keep the building running throughout the year.

This place is just "Homey". Give it a tour and you'll understand what I mean.

Great apartment, fantastic area

Apartment is a block away from Rittenhouse Square. Staff is friendly and responsive. The studio I'm in is renovated with lots of sunlight. Only downside is the laundry is in the basement and requires quarters. However, the combination between the neighborhood and the friendly staff make this living area safe and comfortable

highly recommended building in Rittenhouse

You simply cannot beat the location. One block from Rittenhouse Square, but on the residential/peaceful side where the surrounding buildings are typically shorter, so the view from the higher floors is unobstructed and amazing.

Quiet and classy building with zero major problems. There is no gym, but you're not paying a premium for it, either. The management team and the staff members (doormen, housekeeper, maintenance, ...) are super responsive, competent, friendly and professional.

The apartment itself: Smart layout, large closets, beautiful parquet floors, cool details, high ceilings, and thick walls! Overall much better deal than the other buildings in the area. (I did a very thorough apartment search!)

Quiet and convenient

Great location close to Rittenhouse square and easy access to grocery stores. Relatively quiet building and corner without too much traffic. A few maintenance issues because some of the units are very old.

Great apartments

Arrived to Philly during pre-term without housing. Rented an Airbnb and spent few days looking for a good option.

I was looking for a renovated 1BR unit near Rittenhouse Square. I was not interested in frills (e.g. having gym or rooftop) and found the TownHouse. Not "social" in the sense that you have a BBQ every day in your building, but a lot of Wharton MBA students live here and other rooftops are only open during the summer so I don't think it's worth paying for it.

Building has doorman, well located and, depending the unit, have great apartments. Mine was a renovated unit with very ample spaces and clean.

Management in general is responsive in case you have any problems.

Well Laid Out Studio with Character and Friendly Doormen

Really well laid out studios - separated kitchen, eat-in nook, and an enormous walk-in closet / bathroom. Higher level floors (I'm on 8) have a great view of Philadelphia (towards the Schuykill). Period hardwood floors. Location cannot be beat. Doormen are friendly. Building doesn't have a gym but I opted for classes / gym membership instead. Not a popular building amongst Wharton students but it's definitely overlooked - there are 30+ Wharton people here!

Rittenhouse Square Reviews

Walnut street is very safe - there's always people around and it's well lit. The neighborhood includes all of the fun aspects of living in Philadelphia - tons of access to food and bars, nearby grocery stores/markets, access to the parks and the Schuylkill River Trail
Very close to fun restaurants/bars/shops. Close to the subway as well as the train station (suburban station).
Rittenhouse is the safest part of Philly. It's a very "happening" part of town—lots of restaurants and bars on every street. At the same time, it's right next to more residential neighborhoods to walk around in and explore. It's a great place to live relatively close to the law school but with a degree of separation so as not to get trapped in the law school bubble.
The neighborhood is both quiet and lively. There is so much around, but I have never had an issue sleeping or studying because there is too much noise. The broad street line is a 10-15 minute walk away and we are close to shopping, food, the park, and the river trail. Has everything within a 10-15 walk.
This neighborhood has everything I need within walking distance. Shops, grocery stores, parks, the subway and trolley, post office. You name it. It's very safe and extremely quiet, which helps when I'm trying to study. The Rittenhouse Square area is really the best place to live in Philly if you don't mind paying a little more.
I love this neighborhood and knew I wanted to live here when beginning my apartment search. The park is one of my favorite places in the city, and I love being able to easily access all the restaurants and shopping nearby. It's also an easy (~20 minute) walk to Penn Law, and the walking commute has always been a nice and peaceful part of my day.

Spruce Street in particular is great - it's a little south of the square, so is quieter/shielded from a lot of the traffic that the neighborhood gets, but it's not out of the way or far away. There's a Starbucks, a grocery store (Rittenhouse Market), and a few corner stores (Four Seasons and Food & Friends) within a 2-3 minute walk of my apartment.
Love the neighborhood, Rittenhouse Square is beautiful and we are so close to the more commercial areas like Walnut Street while not being in the center of the craziness. Plus we are within walking distance of public transportation including 10 minutes from the 15/16 street PATCO station. I personally think it is one of the best areas of Philly to live in.
Rittenhouse Square has a park in the center surrounded by a bookstores, restaurants, and a public library. It is open to pets and often has open art / food markets on the weekends. It is close to the Broad Street Line and PATCO. There are many families who live in the area. It is affordable compared to other major cities (NYC, DC, Boston), but there are certainly more affordable areas in Philadelphia, simply without the luxury of being so close to Center City.
