Affordable, spacious, great neighborhood, maintenance issues

Pros: Very spacious, has a nice pool and a gym, big windows, a balcony, a big bathtub, big closets. $15 per car to park in the gated garage. The neighborhood is also great - lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance, and the Beltline is 2 blocks away. It's under a 5 min drive to Grady and about 10 to Midtown, 20 to Emory. It's a 5 minute walk to the King Memorial station.

The only major con is that there are a lot of maintenance issues, and they're understaffed so it takes a long time to get things fixed. Our apartment had leaking sinks/toilets, water damage, a broken AC system, a big crack in the granite kitchen countertop, etc, and it took weeks to months to get these things addressed. Now that the big stuff is fixed, we're happy we live here, but it's something to keep in mind. Try to see the unit you're renting before signing the lease (ours was under construction when we visited so they just showed us pictures and a floor plan). Another possible con is that it's $350 to have a pet, plus a monthly fee.

Good location, solid building

The apartment complex is in a great location, a stones throw from the beltline and very short walk to Krog Market. Feels like a safe neighborhood. The building is good with nice amenities including a decent apt complex gym (not a replacement for serious weight lifting but a nice mix of dumbbells and cardio machines), nice pool, easy parking, game/tv room for community, and package delivery room. My apartment is spacious with a sizable patio, nice kitchen, and in unit washer/dryer.

Chief complaints are that the complex has some less clean parts including recycling which can be prohibitively gross experience. Also the MARTA and shipping containers across DeKalb Ave can be noisy though that may only affect part of the building.

Downtown Location

Good location to be in the mix of social attraction and quick
Accessibility to the highways. Constant noise of the trains and
Truck loading dock , not favorable of. Being close to the beltline is cool in warmer seasons because of activities & events.

West Inman Lofts

The West Inman Lofts are the definition of "Okay." They have many pros and many cons, which nestles West Inman Lofts comfortably in the middle ground.
The apartments are adequate. They have cheap finishes. Blinds break and carpet peels back from the tile, leaving painful staples to step on. The disposals break all of time time, sinks leak, and toilets need replaced, and maintenance isn't always the fastest (read- VERY SLOW unless you are persistent. Don't rely on them to get to it- keep sending in requests or stopping by the office until you see results).
But- West Inman will replace broken blinds and will repair the carpets and handles and everything else that will break- so I suppose that is nice. Although I don't completely understand the value in using cheap products that will inevitably break instead of investing in items that may last longer than a calendar year.
They are very pet friendly and have pet waste bags and 2 different off-leash areas onsite. Some residents fail to use these pet waste bags, but that responsibility absolutely does not fall on the property. I appreciate the pup love they provide.
West Inman Lofts had to undergo some serious construction to fix a plumbing issue. And, from what I understand, the materials used were very cheap and ineffective, and a short while after, a similar issue happened again- causing more construction.
The location is wonderful- which is why the rent is skyrocketing. A new tenant must understand that the location is truly what you are paying for. Everything else is... well, just okay.
