B9 Studio Review

Can go over to Station 9 to socialize, but go home to peace and quiet. Great amenities. A bit on the pricier side but worth having for "me" time.

Great location, very nice rooms and amenities. My only complaint is the property management company can be a bit slow to resolve issues and I often had trouble with gate clickers and keys not working.

Location

B9 is great for being "near the party", but not "in the party". It is conveniently located near the other apartment complexes that Fuqua students live in, next to a grocery store and restaurants, and only a short 10-minute drive to the business school.

Great apartment but a little pricey

Overall, my husband and I enjoy living in B9. Our apartment is super nice and decently spacious. We have a lot of storage with great closets and lots of cabinets in the kitchen. I also love having a small patio. It is definitely pricey but we chose it for a great apartment with laundry and parking plus the proximity to classmates and the grocery store.

Really like living in B9

B9 is one of the priciest options but the studio is a great deal. Location-wise is awesome, a couple of steps away from HT and other popular apartment complexes in the area. Management is really nice and they enforce rules strictly (this might play against if you like to party). Really happy with the apartment and overall experience.

Getting around Ninth Street

Ninth Street Reviews

137 reviews
Tiny "neighborhood" (does this one street even count as a neighborhood?) but has several key institutions, like supermarket, 5-7 nicer restaurants, 2 bars (both dive-y), a Duke store, a Pure Barre, several cute coffee shops, and random hipster shops. Short walk to Whole Foods, Cocoa Cinnamon, and Duke's East Campus (and Brodie Gym).
Close to 24Hr open Harris Teeter supermarket and many other small restaurants (including the famous Heavenly Buffaloes). There have been in the last two years about 4 assault reports that occurred at the Harris Teeter parking lot.
The 9th Street corridor is really pretty great. You are within walking distance of everything you'd need from a barber and a bank to beer and books. It is probably 5-10% more expensive (between Harris Teeter, apartment, and other shops markup) than other areas of Durham, however it is a great community if you're single and want to socialize.
limited immediately in neighborhood but 24 hour Harris teeter across the street is convenient and most grad students live in the area, which helps with carpooling, group work and socializing. Quick drive to school, Costco, bar/restaurant scenes etc. so far have felt pretty safe.
Ninth street is the place to be as an MBA student. Between Station 9 and Berkshire Ninth, the majority of MBA students live at these properties so it's great both for social interaction, but also planning work meetings with your team on the weekend.
This is where the majority of Fuqua students live. If you don’t live here you will still probably come here pretty frequently for social events. It’s waking difference from Tavern and Dain’s which are two bars that Fuqua students frequently go to.
Proximity to grocery store is a huge plus. Like the restaurant scene a lot more since Healthy and Hale opened. Bruggers and Elmos have decent breakfast. Locale 22 is nice if you want a more upscale meal. Overall decent not amazing location.
Its fine. Nothing special. Just where most of the MBA students stay. Access to grocery store and some shops/eateries on Ninth Street.
