Solid apartment

The units are solid, but we’ve had to submit an outrageous number of maintenance requests. For the most part, they’ve responded promptly and accurately, but not always.

Unit facing East - plenty of sunlight

Maintenance is great. Have had to contact them for a leak under the kitchen sink and excessive rattling noise from the washing machine; in both cases the team was quick to respond and fix the issue.

It's nice to have a bunch of classmates in the building as well.

Convenient living near your friends

Great location, close to campus and Rittenhouse/Center City social life. Over 100 Wharton students in class of 24 live in the building, so easy to make friends. Good apartments (insulated from noise well, new appliances, floor to ceiling windows.) Common areas recently renovated.

Pricey but great building

The building is pricey but it is convenient to campus, a lot of students live here, and it has nice amenities. The staff here is very friendly and helpful and they fix issues pretty quickly.

Fine Apartment, but Expensive

The apartment seems a bit overpriced, but it's nice to have a large Wharton community. The building makes you use a service called Fetch to receive packages, which is a huge headache. They frequently lose packages and do not refund you. 2116 management fields numerous complaints about this, but is unwilling to do anything. In general, building management is fine, but not very responsive.

Fitler Square Reviews

Fitler Square is really cute and homey. It's around a lot of other medical students, so it's a good social area and has an easy commute to school. It's also great if you like running because it's right off the trail on the river. Food is good but a bit homogenous (compared to West Philly especially.
Locust and spruce feel a lot safer than market or chestnut at night. Very residential streets with beautiful brownstones. Also close to dog park and the river walkway. About 10min walk from the popular buildings and 25min walk to huntsman
good place for people new to the city! close to both Penn and a lot of stuff downtown. I never lived in Philly beforehand, and definitely recommend this location
Love the neighborhood! If you're interested in being close to the center of the city and being able to actively explore Philly (for a not extreme price) it was great! Also was easy to get to my school - University of Pennsylvania. 15-20 mins to get to school by transit; 30 mins walking.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
The beautiful tree-filled neighborhood is full of families, dogs, and students - it is safe, full of great restaurants, and boasts an equally quick walk to both University City and downtown attractions. The immediate access to the Schuylkill River Trail also can't be beat. While we lack apartment amenities, we love living in a historical brownstone that has charm and character. This is an area where you can live as a student and stay for another 20 years after that.
Great neighborhood, though expensive for Philly. If you're a Penn grad student who wants to be near campus but not on campus, it's ideal for distance from school and the Rittenhouse area. Lots of parks and residents are friendly.
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
The neighborhood is very residential. Not a ton of bars/restaurants which can be annoying if you just want to pick up food after a busy day, but it's right near the park and Skukyhill river trail which is great for exercising and getting outdoors. Close to Trader Joe's and South Street market which is convenient
Center City is a fantastic area. I live on the northern side of it, which is the more financial/industrial/apartment building side. I live 2 blocks from a busy Trader Joe's and inches away from tons of great restaurants, corner stores, and shops. It's close to Rittenhouse Square, a swanky square block with a tiny park in the middle, as well as the Schuylkill River trail (great for running and biking) and the Art Museum area. Multiple major bus lines slice through this neighborhood, making it quite easy to get anywhere when you don't want to walk or bike.
