Convenient, close to school

I have really enjoyed living at VST over the last few years. The location is perfect to walk over to school in five minutes, and it is also close to many gyms, bars, and restaurants.

Recommend

I recommend VST if you can afford it. The proximity to the law school is hard to beat. The maintenance is generally good, very few issues in the year I’ve lived there but the maintenance team comes around very fast. Some issues with the package room. If I could choose again, I would probably try to live a little further away if I could still be in walking distance and lower my rent.

Great amenities and clean space

I've lived at VST for two years now. The rent is quite expensive for not including any utilities or parking. If you have a car its $150 a month on top of rent. Ditmar can be hard to reach or work with sometimes but the actual staff, front desk, and management in VST are wonderful.

Virginia Square Towers

Wonderful building. Easy to set up utilities. Parking pass is $150/month additional. Perfect location! A roommate lowers price by a ton! Right next to metro.

I would recommend

I live in VST with my partner and I'm glad I chose this apartment for the location. It is right across the street from the law school, and about a 5-minute walk to class.
I live in a 1-bedroom-ish unit; the bedroom's window just leads to the living room so it doesn't get any natural light.
I think the rent is comparable to other properties in the area.
Transit is very accessible and there are convenience stores and restaurants nearby.
The gym is nice but busy at peak hours. The screen in the yoga room has been broken for 6 months.
Officially there is a no pet policy, but very many people living there have dogs (including XL dogs). Management doesn't seem to care.

Great Apartment

The management at my property is very responsive, especially to safety concerns. You have to key into the building, elevator, patio, and amenity rooms. They also have a security guard that patrols and front desk services at their main building so package carriers don't come up to your room. The appliances are all new and up-to-date, and the apartments are very nice overall. While it is pricey, the water bill is typically around $11 per month, and my electricity is only around $30 per month, which helps offset the large rent price.

Great Apartment

This apartment is fantastic!! The management team is spot on. Anytime I have had an issue, they addressed everything immediately. There is 24/7 security that is there to address noise complaints immediately. While this place is pricier, I can't stress enough that you pay for what you get. And in this case, it is worth it to be so close to the metro and in such a safe location.

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

Very safe and quiet. There are some good restaurants close by and it’s a quick walk to Clarendon for more dining options.
Safe, clean, and plenty to do. DC proper is very accessible.
LOVE LOVE LOVE my neighborhood. I'm between dupont and u street, so it's not in the middle of it all, which I appreciate. I'm literally 2 blocks from 14th street where all the great restaurants/bars are. I'm also 5-7 mins walking distance to multiple grocery stores (Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Safeway). It's quiet enough to feel like I'm not in a city, but i'm steps away from being reminded that I am.
Courthouse (located right between Rosslyn and Clarendon), is a very convenient area, with lots of shopping, grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants. The metro station is in the center of the neighborhood and leads right to downtown DC, and the area feels very safe, including at night.
This is a very good neighborhood with an easy commute to McLean. It's a very walkable area with Trader Joes and Whole Foods nearby and many other shops, restaurants and bars. There is also a dog park as well as a park (Rocky Run) that has basketball courts and a turf field.
A nice place with plenty of night life, restaurants, and things to do. Pretty safe and upscale. A little cheaper than living in Foggy Bottom but were it not for my wife's work, I might opt to be closer to GW. The commute isnt bad though, 15 or 20 mins by metro.
Average neighborhood, food scene is unexceptional. If the law school wasn't right here I wouldn't be living here. Tons of crowds and people not taking masks / social distancing / pandemic in general serious and going to bars and clubs.
DC people are snooty about those living in Clarendon, but I love it! You get out of the city to a safe, walk-able area with high-end shops and restaurants steps from home. Metro and bus access is fantastic! I don't need a car!
