Definitely recommend

The layout of the 2-bedroom unit is ideal for me and my apartmentmate (also a law student). The unit is situated like 2 spacious suites on either side of the common space ( living room and kitchen). This means that my apartmentmate and I have what feels like our own individual studios, but also plenty of space to host guests and enjoy meals together. There are TONS of storage (my room alone has 3 big closets). Because we have our own bathrooms and bedrooms, we enjoy lots of privacy. I can play loud music, and my apartmentmate will not hear from her room. There is also a beautiful rooftop pool. There is a staff worker in the lobby at all times to keep watch of who enters the building, answer any questions we have, and receive packages. Given all the pros, the $1550/month seems like a steal for a 20-min walk to the law school. Needless to say, my roommate and I are planning to live in our unit until we graduate.

Good spot

This apartment is a great spot with a gym, 2 tandem parking spots, and a rooftop pool. It also has a doorman who receives all packages. However, on a very busy street, Wilshire Blvd.

Solid Apartment

I live in a 1 bed 1 bath unit with carpet flooring, a patio, and a small gas fireplace in the living room. Overall the apartment layout is good for 2 people, and okay for hosting guests. The management is responsive and has someone on premises during most of the day. The complex has a gated garage with plenty of parking space, and some visitor spots. The front door requires a card key to badge in, which helps with security. The walls are not incredibly thick, but sufficient if you don't have noisy neighbors.

Westwood Reviews

Westwood is a great area for graduate and professional students who are not from LA. It is walkable (grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.), which is nice. Campus is close by, and a bus service runs from Weyburn directly to campus.

There is a large amount of homeless activity in the area.
It is a very young neighborhood. A lot of undergrads in the streets.
Neighborhood is primarily UCLA students so you'll be around a bunch of your classmates which is good with many things open till late. You can walk to Anderson within 20 mins. if need be which is a plus and there are plenty of stores and bars to keep people entertained.
Great location for a UCLA student. Able to walk in and out to campus every day (15-20 min walk to Anderson). Also recently remodeled building and units with the possibility of being the first person using the new appliances at the unit.
Westwood has everything you need within walking distance, less than 1 mile to Anderson, centrally located between WeHo and Santa Monica, near the 405 to get to DTLA or LAX
Upscale neighborhood right next to campus with ample restaurant, pharmacy, grocery store, etc. options.
The graduate housing seems like a ghost town. There is hardly anyone out in the quad area ever. Depending on whether you are a social being, this may or may not be an issue. People generally order a lot of things over Amazon and they are delivered to your door, BUT it is also not uncommon for your packages to be stolen. I would never have guessed it but even though it is a gated community, sometimes either outsiders or residents steal packages delivered outside of your door.
You can find almost everything you need in the village if you are not planning on bringing a car.
Very residential. Lots of good food options close by. Not a ton of nightlife.
