Great Location with rooftop

The apartment is a bit out dated but you the building provides a nice rooftop with skyline view and a small pool.

Good Experience

ZUMA Housing is good. They follow up on your requests. I booked my apartment before moving to USA so it was convenient to already have a place and not look for one upon arriving

Definitely recommend

The layout of the 2-bedroom unit is ideal for me and my apartmentmate (also a law student). The unit is situated like 2 spacious suites on either side of the common space ( living room and kitchen). This means that my apartmentmate and I have what feels like our own individual studios, but also plenty of space to host guests and enjoy meals together. There are TONS of storage (my room alone has 3 big closets). Because we have our own bathrooms and bedrooms, we enjoy lots of privacy. I can play loud music, and my apartmentmate will not hear from her room. There is also a beautiful rooftop pool. There is a staff worker in the lobby at all times to keep watch of who enters the building, answer any questions we have, and receive packages. Given all the pros, the $1550/month seems like a steal for a 20-min walk to the law school. Needless to say, my roommate and I are planning to live in our unit until we graduate.

Good spot

This apartment is a great spot with a gym, 2 tandem parking spots, and a rooftop pool. It also has a doorman who receives all packages. However, on a very busy street, Wilshire Blvd.

Solid Apartment

I live in a 1 bed 1 bath unit with carpet flooring, a patio, and a small gas fireplace in the living room. Overall the apartment layout is good for 2 people, and okay for hosting guests. The management is responsive and has someone on premises during most of the day. The complex has a gated garage with plenty of parking space, and some visitor spots. The front door requires a card key to badge in, which helps with security. The walls are not incredibly thick, but sufficient if you don't have noisy neighbors.

Westwood Reviews

Westwood is great. Can take the Bruin Bus to get to campus easily so no need to pay for parking on campus. Westwood village is an easy walk with many great shops and restaurants. Westwood park is around the corner which offers all kinds of outdoor activities. Really enjoy living in this quiet, safe neighborhood.
Great college area, a little depressed because of COVID, but has a lot of potential and feels very accessible. Close to other nice areas like Brentwood or Santa Monica
Expensive, quiet depending on how close you are to undergraduate apartment buildings and the medical center.
The walk to Westwood is kind of long, I usually drive.
Westwood is a great area for graduate and professional students who are not from LA. It is walkable (grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.), which is nice. Campus is close by, and a bus service runs from Weyburn directly to campus.

There is a large amount of homeless activity in the area.

It is a very young neighborhood. A lot of undergrads in the streets.
I'm not a city person, so it feels like there's nothing to do. I don't like bars or clubs, and I can't afford to eat out. Movies are pretty expensive, too. I would love more green space to sit and get away from the noisy 405. But there is a grocery store nearby, and there are a fair number of restaurants and movie theaters. There should be plenty to do for city people. Westwood feels like your typical college town, and it's full of students.
Lots of dining and grocery options at all price points. Very happy to have Ralph's and Target within walking distance (along with upscale groceries if that's your thing). 30 min to LAX or Santa Monica by car (if traffic is cooperative). Easy access to the 405. Lots of Uber cars around to take you where you need to go. Some quiet neighborhoods around campus that are good for running.

Some homeless people but overall feels quite safe. Only problem is that (surprise) it's definitely not cheap to live here.
Westwood is full of UCLA students. Everyone is friendly and there is a shopping center within walking distance of the apartment. Our apartment building is also filled with a lot of nurses or retired couples which is nice. We also have many foreign exchange students living here.
