Great place for students with small pets

Great apartment over all. Great for small pets, maintenance always comes the same day you call (if you call in the morning), has a rooftop with sun chairs and grills.

Great place for young students/professionals

Maintenance has always been punctual, the common areas are kept consistently clean, sound isn’t an issue when compared to similar apartments, and package reception is simple and secure. Great place for small pets as well.

Quiet and Roomy

The maintenance team is not very quick to respond when something breaks. Other than that, it’s a great apartment. The walls are pretty thick, so I rarely here neighbors. Although I do hear a lot of sirens since we are so close to the hospital. Also my studio is extremely spacious.

housing review

Overall the apartment is nice but the management can be unhelpful and rude. It is also overpriced, but a great location makes it worth it for one year. I do not plan on staying longer than that however because the price is not worth it once I can move.

Excellent place to live. The only downside is the distance from grocery/metro

Great location but facilities could use some work

Potomac Park is located in a great location downtown, but the facilities are in sore need of an update. The kitchen in my unit has no ventilation and there is no smoke detector available in the kitchen in case of a fire. There are only windows in the bedroom areas and there are no windows in the living room and kitchen. The kitchen facilities are outdated and look like they haven't been updated in 20 years. Bathroom facilities are also outdated and one of the faucets in my bathroom has a leak that will not stop. There is no gym in the unit, but it is located close to several gyms in the area if you want to work out. There is a great rooftop space that can be used for entertaining with a view of the Washington Monument. It's a great place to watch the 4th of July fireworks if you want to escape the crowds on the National Mall. The building is pretty quiet for its downtown location and I haven't had to file any noise complaints. Overall, the building has a great location but the units need to be better maintained.

Alright apartment

The location cannot be beat! But the apartment is outdated. There was a small roach problem for a few weeks before the apartment got rid of them. Every so often my kitchen sink backs up all over my kitchen because of upstairs neighbors putting food down their drain. The worst part though is on the first floor, cigarette smoke comes in through the space under the heater/AC and there is nothing the complex will do about it.

Foggy Bottom includes the GWU campus, so it's obviously very safe, plus we have a bunch of US federal agencies and the university hospital, so there's a strong police presence. There are a good number of homeless persons living in some of the parks, but they're harmless.

In terms of food, there's some decent food places, but not many. Georgetown, West End, and Dupont are within walking distance, so that's not so much of an issue. There's a Whole Foods and Trader Joes within a 15-minute walk from my apartment, but I prefer to drive to the Georgetown or Columbia Heights Safeway because they have cheaper/more options.
Great location to GW Law School, the monuments, and a few coffee shops, convenience stores and restaurants. I'm glad I have a car to drive to grocery stores to save myself from lugging tons of groceries home. Not a ton of nightlife, which I personally don't mind.
Foggy Bottom is a very convenient place to live as a GW student. But, note that it is a very student populated area. We are also pretty close to Whole Foods about about a 15-20 minute walk from Trader Joes
Across the street from the GW campus. There has been some crime but generally feels very safe. About a 10 minute walk to Whole Foods and the metro. Local eateries located nearby.
Generally safe neighborhood. Protests/Rallies can be a nuisance. A lot of options for food and dining. Close to government buildings for internships/jobs.
It is very close to Safeway and within walking distance from restaurants. However, I do see some shady characters from time to time.
Foggy bottom is pretty boring, but it's nice to be near campus and have close access to the metro. Also near the national mall.
I’m a law student so I don’t make much use of the neighborhood but there are plenty of quiet places to study and check out
