Overlook at Notre Dame Review

I love living at Overlook given its close proximity to campus as well as its responsive management and spacious living area. It was furnished (bed, bedframe, table, couch, chairs, television, washer and dryer) and very clean when I first moved in and provides a stunning view of ND. Although there were several items that needed to be fixed/repaired upon move-in, maintenance normally addresses the issue in a week. It might not be the most budget-friendly place for grad students, but it's a great place to live.

Excellent Place to Live

Living right across the street from the University in an apartment with a view of campus has been one of the best experiences. I live down the hall from a lot of my classmates, and the Danny Boys bar is another excellent hangout spot. I love the layout of the apartment, the fact that it is furnished, and the convenience of having a washer and dryer in house. The kitchen is spacious, the floors are easy to clean, and the windows let in a ton of sunlight. The management and maintenance teams are also super responsive, and they do their best to accommodate residents.

The good, the bad, and the ugly

The good:
Overlook is about a 15 minute walk from Mendoza College of Business. There is a bar that also serves food in the vicinity. Open 5 days out of the week.
Internet speed is about 900Mbps (wired connection). There is a ethernet port with 4 available spots. No need to buy your own equipment.
Can almost always find parking.
With the provided TV you can watch the Notre Dame Football games from your room.

The bad:
Walls are thin, and you'll hear the person that lives above you and the people next to you.
Finding your mail in the mailroom will take as long as one class period.
It is worth having a car to get to stores.

The Ugly:
Maintenance is slow to respond.
The furniture that is provided is not the best. The couch and bed are not worth keeping.
Fire alarms have gone off about once a month.

Overlook Review

I enjoyed my stay mostly. I live in the outer side of the overlook so basically the noise from the Road outside is very annoying. The walls are thin. I can hear people live above walking all the time.

Overall, a Great Place

Everything's been pretty good about it. It's relatively inexpensive with most of the utilities factored in. Electricity and parking are extra costs, but they're not insane. Plenty of room and storage space, great rooms, and really no issues except for slow maintenance response times.

Overall pretty great

Overlook has served its purpose and is not horribly expensive. The location is OK since you have to walk to everything. However, that means the noise is a bit lower vs other places.

Good place for the situation

Considering i’m a student in a college town, this is a nice apartment to live in. Barely off campus and relatively quiet. I also like that it was grad student only living. Price relative to others in the area is reasonable.

Overlook 2022

Good apartment, definitely expensive, they really add on a lot of additional charges like electricity, water, and parking, which are typical. They also have random charges like rent reporting, credit card storage for payments, and others that I can't think off-hand. Besides that, the place is definitely big enough for 1 person and is super close to campus. It's across the street from the athletics side of campus. It is nice to have lived in a only graduate student apartment as well. Everyone is roughly the same age and has a similar interest in school work intensity as well as enjoying the weekend.
