Great Location
The North Foundry building is conveniently located across the street from the Notre Dame campus (a 5-10 minute walk), and has direct access to a large parking garage. What's more, Eddy Street is a well developed business hub with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores.
Inside the apartment, the brick walls block out most external sounds. The units have large windows and high ceilings, which I particularly liked. There are also washer/dryer units in each apartment. The appliances were all in great shape and mostly up-to-date, and the ceiling lights light up all rooms except for the bedroom, which did not have any ceiling fixtures.
The building is restricted to outsiders via key access, and the hallways have security cameras. I felt very safe in the building, and especially in my apartment.
Overall, I would say that the Foundry adequately met my needs as a graduate student. The central location really makes the relatively high price worth it.

Great location, bad management
Foundry South is a very nice property (nice amenities, spacious floorplans, etc.) with a great location if you're an ND student. Also being on Eddy St. near shops and restaurants is nice. However, management is a pain to work with. They are extremely unresponsive, especially in times when you really need them. Move-in was a nightmare and my A/C was broken for the first 2 weeks (the hottest of the year).

My experience at the Foundry
Best location and amenities but he property management can be really frustrating to deal with. They have the best product in town and they know it. Rent is really expensive but Eddy St is a great place to live.
Apartment service crew is responsive, but the front office is not.

Very Bad
I rated this a 2/10 because they are terrible at communication, they do not give you a lease until 2 week before your move in date and they aren't helpful when it comes to maintenance requests. I had to email and call them so many times to just get an opportunity to apply for an apartment. I was put on a waitlist after applying for an apartment and didn't know for months if I was going to get a place- this is the norm, they do not tell you for weeks/months. They do not answer their phones, they do not call back, they do not email back. After moving in my shelves fell off the wall due to poor assembly to the wall, I called the apartment to come fix it and they just put the nails in the same holes so it's still not secure and they told me just to not put a lot on it. They overcharge you but at the end of the day it has the best location so people will continue to live here.

Worth It
If you can afford it, The Foundry is the place to be. Dealing with management and getting a contract to sign a lease can feel like pulling teeth, but once you're in, things get easier. Other issue is package room, your package won't always come to your building, I personally have days where I go on package hunts.

Luxurious Housing
The Foundry is the nicest most luxurious option for student housing. It has many amenities like a pool, gym, sauna and it’s located on the heart of Eddy Street. If it’s in your budget, it’s the best option. Downsides include management, hidden fees, and the $100 monthly parking fee.

80% Good
The apartment is a good idea, but cheaply and poorly executed. For example the stainless steel appliances look nice and have many features, but the microwave is inconsistent and the oven takes about an hour to get to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. The in-unit laundry works well, but it takes two loads for one full laundry basket. The building services team vacuums once per month and does not wash the floors. The gym has great equipment, but runs out of cleaning solution to use after using the equipment. I think you get the gist. Then building management is, well, ineffective, but "ineffective" might be a compliment.

It's close. That's the plus.
I live at the Foundry because it is the closest apartment complex to Notre Dame. This is the only reason to choose this overpriced place.
