Safe and quiet neighborhood
We love where we live. Missouri Ave is a cross street that contains apartments in a neighborhood where all of the blocks surrounding are nice, family homes. we are close to SMB but seemingly pretty sheltered from crime. Our place is small but very nice, with wood floors and relatively new, perfectly functioning appliances. Our bedrooms are large and the living room is very comfortable and separate from the kitchen, which has a well lit and large area for a table.

Well placed quiet building, hands off management
This building is in a great area - a quiet residential neighborhood just west of Santa Monica Boulevard about two miles from campus. I got the apartment because it was pet friendly (I have a 60lb dog), but the enclosed garage w/room for a second vehicle if you double park is really nice. The building itself is older, so things like windows, central heating/cooling, and water pressure reflect that. The unit had a new refrigerator and stove, and there are hardwood floors throughout. The two biggest drawbacks are that the walls are a bit thin and the landlord isn't very responsive.
