Not a bad place to stay even if its a little out of the way of where students live

Excellent location, only problem is its distance to the DuPont Bus. I don't mind a walk but that's the only issue. Otherwise, its very close to the U St. Green Line Station. Clean room, quiet, good facilities.

Love living at the Harper

The Harper is right in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of 14th Street. Honestly, the biggest amenity is that it's across the street from a Trader Joes - that's a huge plus! The rooftop is gorgeous and the finishes are great! Definitely love this building. Keener management has been outstanding as well. They made the move-in process really easy and put together really great social events for the residents. The front desk security guards are polite/friendly, but are still very strict about letting in visitors which is great for security.

The Harper is Great!

We love The Harper! It's right on 14th Street, so it's in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, making it very easy to go to dinner or even to Trader Joes. Lots of coffee shops near by as well. Never a dull moment when living on 14th Street! Plus easy access to the Metro.

Brand new apartment near U Street

Couldn't be happier with the Harper! The staff and management team are incredibly friendly and helpful and do a great job making the apartment stay in tip top shape. After looking at other buildings in the area, we realized that we were getting the best deal living at The Harper! The neighborhood is young and happening. Trader Joe's is across the street, the U Street Metro stop is only a couple of blocks away, and there are tons of bars and restaurants nearby. The rooftop also has amazing views of the city.

Keener Management is stellar!

Keener Management has created an amazing property that is a great value and very well managed. That staff is really friendly and goes the extra mile to make sure that we are happy with our experience. Since the Harper is brand new I haven't had a lot of maintenance requests, but on the occassion that I have had a maintenance request, its been taken care of in under 24 hours. I also love the surrounding neighborhood. The U Street corridor is an awesome location. It can get a little loud on the weekends, but that's to be expected. Theview from our rooftop is amazing, and all the residents we've met at the Harper have been really friendly. The building consists mostly of young professionals in their late 20's which is great.

U Street Corridor Reviews

Very vibrant part of town, with a lot of young professionals. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood from restaurants, bars, and even workout studios/gyms. There is so much within walking distance, and there are two metro stops also within walking distance. It is very convenient especially if you are a Howard student. You really couldn’t be in a better neighborhood than U Street corridor and the Shaw District.
Love the restaurants on 14th and the availability of bars in my neighborhood, however the U st bars have creepier people than the bars in other parts of the city. Also my phone was stolen at Tropicalia. Don't go there.
There are not many grocery stores nearby, but there is a great Chinese Restaurant down the street. The neighborhood is probably one of the safest places in DC.
Great parks, restaurants, and bars nearby. Also close to several supermarkets, coffee, shops and a metro station
Shaw // U St is a great place to live. Tons of fun bars and restaurants nearby as well as great shopping.
There are a bunch of restaurants and bars in the area, so that is a major plus. The area is also right next to Meridian Hill Park, so you have easy access to a lot of outdoor space. Depending on the exact location of the building, there can be a lot of noise, but the area is overall safe.
Although, noisy, the U street corridor is by far the only place I'd want to live in DC. Yes, the area is in serious need of some parking garages but between the convenience and amazing nightlife this area has it all.
Love Shaw, feels like a neighborhood but with plenty of fun things to do & very close to everything you would need. Access to public transit while not too far from VA or GW.
