Kelby Farms

Kelby Farms is a new complex. They offer many solutions from 1 bed to 3 bed. Overall, the complex is safe and quiet, the staff is friendly, and it is 15 minutes away from Duke. Highly recommended.

Kelby Farms is a brand new development with luxury apartments and great amenities. I live in a very large 1 bedroom apartment for comparable rates to studios on Erwin or downtown. The unit has beautiful modern finishes and a well thought-out floor plan. Most buildings have 3 floors with an external walkup so no elevators, but also no long/confusing hallways. Sound proofing is pretty good so I rarely hear my neighbors. Everything is brand new, so perfectly clean and zero pest issues.

There are a ton of amenities with a decent gym, study spaces with a conference room, an outdoor pool, and a well-appointed clubhouse. The clubhouse has plenty of seating for studying, free coffee station, an upstairs lounge area with lots of table games, a huge TV, patio, kitchens for hosting parties, and a tap with free kombucha currently. It's very pet friendly, with even a dog washing station by the clubhouse. There are frequent resident events with good turnout from the community. Management has been pretty good so far. There haven't been many issues, but they were extremely proactive, responsive, and accommodating when there were construction delays that complicated my move-in.

The location is ideal for me, as it's right next to the highway yet manages to be extremely quiet and peaceful. It's feels secluded and safe as well. Kelby Farms is located about halfway between Durham and Chapel Hill, with a 10-12 minute drive to Duke Hospital. It's also just 5 minutes away from Wegmans, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Target, Li Ming's, lots of dining, etc.
