Great Amenities, Pricy, Decent Location

The apartment has a lot of great amenities and the maintenance team is quick to fix any issues, but there is a large homeless population in the area, and rent is pretty expensive compared to other apartments in the area. I chose this apartment because it is very close to campus, but since classes are now online and my commute to campus is gone, I wish I were in a different area where I could walk more freely. I have lived here for two years and have had good relationships with management, but will likely not stay beyond this lease.

Camden Midtown

Floor plans are great for the price. However, that price included a required technology package for internet and cable. I wouldn't have purchased the package if I had a choice because I don't watch cable, but there wasn't an option there. The quality is average, internet goes down sometimes but not enough for it to be a huge issue. There is also a required valet trash fee every month. They pick up trash every night Sunday-Thursday, which is nice, but again, wish the cost wasn't required.

They just installed new "chirp" locks so theres easy access to garage, amenities, and units from the mobile app.

Biggest issue ive seen so far is missing packages. Since I moved in I had a package delivered to the whole other side of the complex and a package that completely went missing. Other people have had this problem as well but management has said they are working to fix it.

Lots of bars/restaurants around and is located right next to a Randalls and a Walgreens, which is very convenient. Surrounding roads are nosey, but that was to be expected.

Being in Midtown was really great before Covid. I would definitely recommend living in Midtown if classes are in person since you are only a 5 min drive to campus and the bars are close by, making it a little easier to have a social life in law school. However, living in Midtown mid-pandemic is very different and the conveniences of being close to school are no longer relevant. I do like that it is a young neighborhood where most people are young professionals.
Lots of bars and restaurants, lots of store close by, little crime as long as you aren’t on the border of downtown and Midtown.
overall good experience; close to restaurants and bars but not so close that it is loud on the weekends
On the edge of midtown so great access to restaurants and main streets without the noise of the bars in the center of midtown. Also brand new Whole Foods across the street. The people who use street parking, though, make getting out onto the big street a little annoying.
As close to the school in a safe neighborhood (I am a single woman so "safe" to me may be different than it is for you). When I think safe, I want 1) to be able to walk alone and 1) in a well-lit area and 2) there not be crime I have heard of occurring right around our complex. Lots of good bars and restaurants within walking distance as well. There are always people walking around, WHICH I LIKE. I would prefer than v. it being empty if I ever need to walk my dog later at night. Less than 15 minutes to drive to school - no highway needed.
Midtown is great. Lots of people. Can get a little sketchy but i think every where in Houston can.
Midtown is the most walkable neighborhood in Houston. I’d recommend it for those who like an urban feel.
I love my neighborhood. Midtown is known for being hit or miss and there can be issues with the homeless. The advantages definitely outweigh any cons though.
