Camden Durham

Very clean and new.

The apartment has two buildings. I'm in the second but have access to all of the amenities of the first. The only downside of living in the second building is the parking garage is not connected, so at night you have to walk outside to get to your apartment, and in the morning it adds a couple minutes to my commute. Other than that, I love it! It's a brand new build so I'm the first person to live in my apartment and all appliances, AC, internet, etc. works great and maintenance is fast and free (except on Sundays) for common apartment/appliance issues. The windows are a little janky and the shades don't really block the light from the outside very well, so if you live at least in the second building I would try to get an apartment facing away from the street between the two buildings, because at night there's a super bright street light that is basically like the sun and keeps my room very bright at night. Also, if you face the street you're going to hear a lot of trash truck and train noise in the middle of the night. I have friends whose apartments face the opposite way and they say they can't hear any of that noise at all so just something to keep in mind. Also if you have a roommate the walls within the same apartment are very thin. I can never hear my neighbors but I can hear if my roommate even turns the kitchen sink on from my room with the door closed. The leasing office is always very nice, guest parking passes are free and easy, printing is free, and the apartment is pet friendly so I see lots of fun faces around the building! We're also a two minute walk from the Bulls stadium and DPAC which has been super fun!

The property is brand new, and my experience with management has been great so far. Love living here. Living downtown is nice, but don't have the same proximity to campus/9th street that is nice during the first 2 years of med school. No noise issues at all, mostly older residents.

I have enjoyed my time at Camden Durham apartments, the apartment is clean, maintenance and office staff are responsive, and the vibes are great. However, it is about a 10 minute drive from PG3 so I would take this into consideration if you would like to live walkign distance from campus.

The fire alarm sometimes goes off, but the apartment is very nice and does a good job of trying to build community among owners.

This is a great location to live if you are a couple without kids. There are monthly community events sponsored by the apartment (ex: events at Bull City Ciderworks, pool parties with DJs and cocktails sponsored by local distilleries). The gym has amenities like 3 peloton bikes and an actual squat rack. The discord is very active and neighbors are friendly. You’re further away from the trains so it’s not as loud. Only consideration is that construction.

Management is responsive, great amenities, high levels of privacy. Only complaint will be how huge the building is with lack of directions
