AVOID!!

This apartment complex is absolutely horrible. The management is a disgrace, the amenities are not well kept, the property is disgusting. I would never live here again and I am so glad that I got out when I did.

MAA Acklen

I really like living here - I used to live in a 2B 2BR with a roommate and now I live in a 1B 1BR alone and I like both. I feel safe here and enjoy all the amenities, especially the pool, business center, package lockers, and trash valet. Management is responsive and willing to work with people. The only downsides are the not-great water pressure in the showers (in both apartments I've lived in) and thin walls/floors - now that I'm not on the top floor, I feel like I hear every move above me.

MAA Acklen Review

MAA Acklen has been a great apartment for my 3L year. It's a super short drive to the law school (or about a 1.5 mile walk on a nice day) and it's close to everything in Midtown. It's also close to Sylvan Park and White Bridge. The building is very nice with helpful management and a great gym and roof. Not many other law students live here, but several other Vanderbilt grad students do (mainly med students). I'd recommend MAA Acklen!

Acklen West End

This apartment has so many amenities like a 2 floor gym, a pool, a rooftop terrace, and more. Part of the rent goes towards apartment wide activities, too. I love it here.

MAA Acklen

Decently sized floor plan in an apartment with great amenities. Close to campus and bus stops, but the rent is quite expensive for a two-bedroom.

It depends…

I enjoy my location, close enough to campus to make it if you wake up late but far enough away to separate the two. Also the complex offers great amenities, including guest parking in the garage. Unfortunately, unless you live on the top floor, hearing your upstairs neighbors is a common occurrence.

Great spot to live, management not fantastic

I love the complex itself- 5 min walk away from shuttle stop that brings you straight to the medical center (round wing) and other locations. Has a pool, gym, amazing rooftop, pool table/chess/ping pong, business center, and they run social events twice a month. My apartment itself is spacious and I wouldn't change much about it. Management is not that great however- they aren't too responsive to problems and if you have something going on you REALLY have to bug them a lot to get something done. I don't have a pet but they allow pets and even have a dog run too! Very safe neighborhood, I go on walks to Centennial all the time by myself and have always felt secure.

Safe and close to campus

So far I've had a great time renting from Acklen West End. The management and maintenance team are always available and will help with whatever you need. The building is quiet and pet friendly. The amenities are great and the building is always very clean. It is very close to the VUMC shuttle route so there's no need to pay for campus parking. It's in a great area close to restaurants, major highways, and downtown. If you're moving to Nashville, this is a great first apartment.

Very convenient

Nice having a gym and pool in the complex, plus the main office hosts wine nights/holiday parties (now grab and go with covid). Main office is not very responsive but very nice when they do respond. Also extremely convenient for class/clinic/work because the Vanderbilt shuttle stops at about a 3 minute walk away and takes you right to round wing.

Getting around Midtown

Midtown Reviews

183 reviews
I am on the border of Midtown and Music Row so it feels very safe here, there is not tons of traffic which is nice when walking around and even driving whenever I get out in my car, and there is plenty to do with a bunch of restaurants and bars. There is even an outdoor concert every Monday at one of the bars across the street, so I can open my windows and just listen to live music when doing homework - I love it!
very fun atmosphere. Central to everything and lots of restaurants and shopping near by and very close to school. about a 5 minute drive
Everything is a short drive away (15 minutes or less). There are grocery stores, restaurants and bars in the areas so you aren’t missing out on the social experience. This is a more residential corner of the midtown area so you don’t hear traffic/ambulance noise even though there are freeways and hospitals nearby. Close to Centennial Park and Percy Warner Trails so if you enjoy the outdoors this is a nice area to be in.
Midtown is great if you want to live close to campus. Vibrant bar/restaurant scene and short walk to campus. Said "yes" to all the additional questions around safety, family/pet friendly, etc. but you also have to realize it's very much a party area. Division is very popular and as a result, you always have to watch your surroundings and be aware at all times.
Midtown is situated just next to Vanderbilt with tons of fun bars and restaurants
Lots of bars and food places, easy to walk around, safe, vibrant.
Restaurants nearby, quiet, close to gym. I really like it.
Very close to campus and plenty things around to do
