Great location but lacking amentities

The cost to live here is outrageous compared to the perks. Parking is a pain at times and gym equipment is lacking and often out of order. management is nice but sometimes difficult to work with. Rent goes up every year no matter what even when you already pay above market.

Great location

Great area that is walk-able and accessible to Washington, DC. I feel safe and comfortable living here and enjoy the mix of restaurants and shops. The company does raise the rent unfairly and charges way too much for what it provides. I wish that the apartment had more small benefits such as free guest parking passes and coffee in the morning, etc.

Arlington Townhouse Experience

I live in a townhouse in Arlington with 4 other people, all not medical students. Overall, I've had a good experience living there and going to school at Georgetown. The amenities are nice and there's a lot of room in the townhouse, and I appreciate being able to get away from campus and the immediate Georgetown area since it kind of helps me recharge and feel like I'm out of the bubble. The commute can be a bit of a pain, I ride my bike (about 20 min) a lot but the weather doesn't always let me do that, and the GUTS bus does an Arlington loop that's good but not always the most reliable. It can be a little isolating to live so far away from campus, and you really have to plan your days and what you're bringing to campus, but it's certainly not prohibitive to feeling like you're a part of the class. If you're willing to put up with those things, and you want nice amenities and slightly cheaper rent, then I think living in Arlington is a pretty good bet.

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

This is a safe and exciting neighborhood to live in.
Clarendon is the most similar to D.C. as far as an Arlington neighborhood goes. There are tons of bars, restaurants, gyms/yoga studios, grocery stores. Walking around, you will see tons of young professionals/graduate students. It's really clean and quiet. It's on the silver/orange metro line so you can really get anywhere. It's super closer to major highways/the airport, so if you have a car, there is not a single place that's too far away.
Clarendon is a lovely neighborhood with so much to offer. Many young families and young professionals, but also many loud, young college/ post college partiers. Area can be loud at times. Many great restaurants , walking distance to anything you need. Expensive rent but close to metro/ busses
Lyon village is a great place to live because it it really close to Clarendon with all of the night life and restaurants, but you don't have to deal with all the people and noise. It is very safe - as a female I never feel insecure when walking around at night alone.
The neighborhood has a very busy nightlife. It has several bars and lounges in the area, as well as a great selection of late-night eateries. During the day time, the area is very peaceful. Great places for brunch, shopping, and groceries.
Clarendon is a great neighborhood with lots of young adults. There are some good restaurants and it is a quick metro ride into the city. It is a little quieter than living in the city, but you still get a little bit of a city feel.
So much to do, so many restaurants, so many bars, great shopping, many cafes, four grocery stores within walking distance! Lots to do, but also quiet and has nice suburban feel. Can't say enough great things!
This is the place to be if you are a young professional in the DC area. The prices are way more affordable than DC and you have so much more space! There is always something fun to do and new people to meet!
