Fantastic Location / Apartment Quality & Size

I was originally considering 1919, 2116 and so on, but 2400 is the best of both worlds. Cheaper prices, renovated apartments, great location to wharton's campus. Building management is great. Highly recommend. Only downside is no rooftop amenities, but not a big deal.

great apt to live in

i am a wharton student - live with a roommate, 2br 1.5bath, so much space, really nice renovated apt, gym is fine nothing crazy but there is a gym - i think they are renovating it to be done by this christmas. overall would definitely recommend its very close to river and school!

2400 Chestnut studio

The building is amazing - great location, splendid after the 2022 renovation, free daily shuttles to Penn campus makes it even sweeter.
Rooms are large with ample storage - I've loved my 2 years here.

Great place for students

Full of Penn and Drexel grad students. Decently quiet, shared laundry units and trash rooms on every floor. It is very safe with a 24 hour doorman and key-card accessible elevators. Very responsive maintenance staff.

Solid Apartment

2400 is in a great location right in-between Rittenhouse and campus. The apartments are spacious and having free laundry on the floor is very convenient. The only negative things I can really say is that it seems like one of the elevators is always broken and their payment system is dated. But all the doormen are very nice and friendly and the building provides everything you could really want.

Great place to live

The building is pretty expensive but very comfortably located. The rooms are beautiful. I recommend trying to get it on a summer sale.

The location is unbeatable with close proximity to more action in Rittenhouse, the Schuylkill for running, and a short commute to school/the hospital. Trader Joe's is ~10 minute walk from my house, but there are also a few other smaller grocery stores nearby. It's a very family friendly area with folks of all different ages and tons of dogs.

Love the neighborhood! If you're interested in being close to the center of the city and being able to actively explore Philly (for a not extreme price) it was great! Also was easy to get to my school - University of Pennsylvania. 15-20 mins to get to school by transit; 30 mins walking.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!

The beautiful tree-filled neighborhood is full of families, dogs, and students - it is safe, full of great restaurants, and boasts an equally quick walk to both University City and downtown attractions. The immediate access to the Schuylkill River Trail also can't be beat. While we lack apartment amenities, we love living in a historical brownstone that has charm and character. This is an area where you can live as a student and stay for another 20 years after that.

Great neighborhood, though expensive for Philly. If you're a Penn grad student who wants to be near campus but not on campus, it's ideal for distance from school and the Rittenhouse area. Lots of parks and residents are friendly.
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.

The neighborhood is very residential. Not a ton of bars/restaurants which can be annoying if you just want to pick up food after a busy day, but it's right near the park and Skukyhill river trail which is great for exercising and getting outdoors. Close to Trader Joe's and South Street market which is convenient

Center City is a fantastic area. I live on the northern side of it, which is the more financial/industrial/apartment building side. I live 2 blocks from a busy Trader Joe's and inches away from tons of great restaurants, corner stores, and shops. It's close to Rittenhouse Square, a swanky square block with a tiny park in the middle, as well as the Schuylkill River trail (great for running and biking) and the Art Museum area. Multiple major bus lines slice through this neighborhood, making it quite easy to get anywhere when you don't want to walk or bike.

This spot is perfect -- closer to campus, near the train station, huge spaces, kind and helpful staff, cool-looking building, new gym, beautiful park nearby, and overall easy and awesome loft-style living experience. I think people will pressure to have to live on Rittenhouse because that's what everyone immediately says to do, but in reality you can live near Rittenhouse (Locust on the Park is just a 5 minute walk to the square) and not miss out on anything. Fitler Square is beautiful, quiet, and still a perfect location.

Pros: close to school as well as all the fun stuff downtown (Schuylkill River Trail, restaurants, bars, museums, theaters, shopping, you name it!); very safe even walking alone late at night; lots of other students here
Cons: Trader Joe's is the only real grocery store here and may have limited selection for those looking for a supermarket; not as quiet or "neighborhood-y" as other areas, as it is in the heart of downtown; there is a freight train that runs along the river that can be loud, though I got used to it quickly
