Great apartment and location for someone looking for a quiet living space

I love my apartment and the amount of storage in this studio apartment! I tend to hoard so having a large closet for clothing and shoes, plus an entryway closet that I've repurposed to be half pantry/household items and half winter coats is amazing. It's the perfect amount of space for a solo gal and allows me enough room for a 10ft sectional that I use to take a nap or have a couple of friends in my quarantine pod over. The building itself is fairly quiet and most residents keep to themselves. This may be different in non-COVID times but otherwise a great spot for a student to focus and not be distracted. Whether the thermostat is set to AC or heat is controlled by the building but you can control the individual temperature in your own apartment. This really only presents a problem during the transition from fall to winter and winter to spring.

Amazing management and renovated apartments.

The management here is so accommodating - especially during move in and is willing to help with large packages as well. The apartments have in unit washer dryers and are all in good shape. The location is also amazing.

I absolutely love where I live!

I was super excited to come to DC and spent hours doing research into the best place for my partner and me! I found the Hamilton House and it changed my world. It had no such complaints, it was full of residents and even attendings, no reviews of these pests. It also looked very classy online plus the people who were helping us with answering everything were extremely friendly. So one of the residents who lived there sent me a video of one of the apartments (L-shaped studio) and I decided to sign before even coming in. Turns out it was the absolute perfect place for us! We have a 460 square foot place and it is just the right amount of room for everything we need. We even throw little parties and it seems to fit everyone very well.

Also, the front desk people have been there for 20+ years, they have so much pride in where they work and live. There is a mail room, a gym, a sauna, a pool during the summer, a roof with BBQs and incredible views, plus they throw cute little parties for us apartment residents. It may be a little pricey but guess what? It also includes washer, dryer, and dishwasher in the place! That with microwave, oven, and... fridge with ice maker! Its truly the best place I have ever lived.

Location is right between two of the most major metros in DC (Foggy Bottom/GWU -blue,orange,silver -and the DuPont stop -red line). The DC circulator which takes you to Georgetown for $1 stops right in front of the home. Its also right next to the DuPont farmers market (I go every Sunday I can). 10 min walk to GW or MFA. 10 min walk to TJs or Whole Foods. 2 min walk to CVS. 6 min walk to so many restaurants and DuPont Circle. We walk around the lovely cobblestone neighborhoods with rowhomes, its kind of ridiculous how beautiful it is and right next to like corporate feeling DC. Unfortunately, no pets allowed. Oh and parking is like $250/month, I think.

It’s expensive, but great place to live

Lived there for 3 years. Great apartment, very responsive and attentive staff. Downside would be the price and mediocre gym.

Excellent

This apartment has everything I want. Perfect location, walking distance to campus, lots of sunlight, well-maintained by the management, close to Red Line(DuPont Circle). It is very expensive, but you'll save on commute costs (around $100) and utilities($50). When I was choosing an apartment, my research showed me that considering the above factors, I actually will only spend $100 more per month, on less spacious floorplans. I don't care too much about quantity, but value a great deal the quality. That's why I chose Hamilton House.

Hamilton House review

Management is awesome and super timely. Apartments are very nice, well maintained, recently renovated. Extremely convenient walk to GW. Located between blue/orange/silver metro and a red metro line stop.

Hamilton House is located in the crossings of West End, Foggy Bottom, and DuPont. It is a very clean, classy area. Super incredible how you can walk down the street to old-town DC, walk down another street and its all clubs and bars of DuPont, walk the other direction and its GW, walk another direction and its DuPont circle and all the incredible food. This is an ideal location, especially being situated right in between Foggy Bottom / GW Metro stop and the DuPont Metro stop.
If you really want to enjoy your experience of being in DC then this is the place for you.
I am close to Whole Foods which makes grocery shopping easy.
Dupont is a great place to live. It's 15-20 minutes, walking, from the school and right across the street from the metro station. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in the area and a farmers market every Sunday.
Traffic and sirens can make it a noisy place, especially if your unit faces a major street. Walkability to campus, public transit, the mall, social areas, and businesses make it a prime location though. Mixture of GW students, Gtown students, and working professionals make up the primary population in the area if I had to estimate. I feel very safe here.
South of the circle shuts down on the weekends. It's a ghost town of high rise office buildings devoid of any character that makes DC such a loveable city.

The M street and Connecticut Avenue bars are close however, it's a very specific crowd of people and not the place to go if you have an aversion to sticky floors and drunk coeds. In terms of every day errands: there are plenty of CVS type stories in the general vicinity however be prepared to walk at minimum a mile to get groceries. On a nice day it's no big deal but on a rainy day you're going to wish there was a closer option.

The Dupont Farmer's Market is a lovely respite from the corporate bustle on the weekends and you can't beat the location in terms of convenience for getting around the city. It's walking distance to everything and a great launching off point if you want to get out of the city for the day.
Could not be more centrally located in DC. Almost everything imaginable can be found within walking distance. This convenience is reflected in the high rent.
Great restaurants and young people. Lots to do. Red line of the metro gets to a lot of the sightseeing. Short commute by walk or bike.
